How do I talk to my boss about my needs and incontinence?

I’m a young adult dealing with work and incontinence. I am just trying to get used to needing diapers. This is a recent thing for me. I am wondering if I should talk to my boss about what I need to be able to manage it at work. How much should I say? How do I manage at work if I have accidents. I’ve forgotten diapers places. This is all new to me and has me feeling embarrassed about this. Yeah idk what to say to my boss.

Hi! What kind of job do you have within the company? Do you sit behind a desk, or do you work on the production line? How bad is your Incontinence? I drive cars, and for the most part, I can get away with wearing Pull-Ups that will get me to the Restroom before I wet myself. Do you have to wear a Diaper and would need supplies at work?

I work at Walmart currently. Checking recipes at the entrance right now. My incontinence is bad. I have a lot of accidents. Yeah I have to wear a diaper and would need supplies at work.

no one looks forward to having to tell an employer they deal with incontinence. If you are diapered I’m not sure, if you have on a quality diaper with a booster why it would be necessary? I’m assuming you are dealing with UI?

Yes I'm dealing with UI. Part of the problem is I can't get more breaks to change as needed. So that is why I'm wondering if I should talk to my boss and how much should I tell. I'm honestly trying to figure life out right now with dealing with this now.

Hey there, I'm a young adult looking for work too. Your rights deserve to be respected and glad I'm not the only one trying to navigate wearing diapers. You only have to disclose it as a medical condition to get the help you need.

You could possibly say something like:

"Hello, I'm here to discuss a medical condition have that requires some workplace accommodations. I've been diagnosed with urinary incontinence, and it's medically necessary to use protective underwear for me to manage it. For me to do my best work, I need the ability to take frequent restroom breaks as needed.

Also, if possible, having a discreet location to change with my supplies would be very helpful. I have a doctor's prescription/note that I can provide if needed. I am committed to my work and will do my best to manage this privately and professionally."

You don't have to share all the details, only what you feel comfortable with. Hope this helps?

This actually does help. Thank you. It also helps to know I’m not the only young adult going through this. Thanks.
