How Can NAFC Better Support You? We Want to Hear From You!

I think we could be set up to do this -we do have an absorbent products section here-what if folks posted threads for different products so people could comment. Is there a list of products you're looking for feedback on that we could start? Or are you looking more for recommendations on "most absorbent", "best for men", "best products for nighttime use", etc.?
I like all of your suggestions. Perhaps, it can be by absorbent product type? To start, one category could be disposable bed underpads. Another user, Peter, mentioned synthetic diapers vs cloth diapers above. Other categories could be bladder control pads, male guards, reusable underwear, thin absorbent liners, pull-ups, etc.

In regards to feedback, I'd like to share my experience. I've tried all the different brands of bed pads in the market for my husband who has dementia. Some from ActivStyle. Others from donations in diaper banks. I've found that the SPC Quilted Underpads by San Pablo Commercial have been the most absorbent. It doesn't leak urine or clump up like the other underpad brands. The adhesive strips on the bottom help make it stays in place when my husband tosses and turns.

I'd also like a comparison of different types, like synthetic vs. cloth or something else, worked-in if feasible.

Hello Sara,

Thank you for asking how to make the forum even better. I found Snow's answer very apt - even if I am a man - because it shows a number of problems that exist here. Some of them may be changed.

I am also affected by a neurogenic storage and emptying disorder and hope to meet people here who have gained positive experiences with pacemakers. Unfortunately, there is no section for neurogenic disorders.

Another problem, in my opinion, are the diaper fetishists. They are quite annoying in places and rather scare people away who have real problems. I already understand that it can sometimes be important to talk about the management of incontinence. But it is much more important for me to exchange experiences about what you have already tried to get rid of the crap and with which there have been small successes. For both, discussions about the best diaper are completely counterproductive.

When talking about the management of bladder problems, absorbent aids are just one option that does not particularly affect many. Many people with LUTS (lower urinary tract symptoms) who could actually participate in this forum suffer from emptying and not from storage disorders or both. Unfortunately, this part is completely hidden in the forum.

Best regards
Michael
