Has anyone investigated stem cell therapy for urinary incontinence?

I am a 67 year-old male with mild incontinence, resulting from a 2017 laser procedure (TURP) to remove prostate calcium deposits and necrotic tissue. I have a history of prostate issues, including cancer in 2011, but never dealt with incontinence until this last procedure. I am convinced that my internal sphincter has been permanently compromised, and no matter how many kegels I do, I will always have a persistent low-volume drip-drip-drip.

Compared to many on this site my problem is really just an annoyance. However, I would like to eventually return to a continent state. I have no desire to consider any of the standard surgical options.

I have been reading/studying some of the trials that have been done using stem cells to improve/cure incontinence. It seems like most of the trials have been done with females, but those few that have focused on males have shown very good results.

Has anyone else been investigating stem cell therapies? I would like to compare notes if so. I know there are no approved treatments in the USA currently, but I would consider going outside the US if the situation were "right".

Please let me hear back from you if you are also interested in this, or if you can further direct me to additional contacts & resources outside our NAFC network. Thanks!

I have read stem cell done in other countries is expensive and a farce. By the time you realize your not getting better almost a year has gone by. Also the infection rate can be very high and you end up worse than before. Jerry

Good points gelu65! Has anyone had any actual experience with stem cells? I have spent a fair amount of time reviewing many of the trials that have occurred in the US. These documents ARE NOT written for lay people, but in the "Conclusions" section the summaries point to real success!

Again, if anyone has any specific experience or knowledge I'd love to communicate with you. Thanks!

I am doing stem cell treatment for my ms diagnosis. I believe they are helping me but hard to say if they are for sure. I am having contenience issues but that goes with the territory of ms. I have done infusions of my own stem cells in my blood which the largest problem is you cannot direct where they are going. Wherever they are going they are fixing something. Now I have stuck with intrathecal injections every 6 months. Hopefully that works. ;)

Feel free to message me. I know what I am doing is “experimental” but nothing is really known about ms so in my mind I don’t really have anything to lose and I fully believe stem cells will be the future of medicine. It is amazing what they can accomplish.

Hi, after 10 months of dealing with this Demoralizing, Demeaning and Stressful Urge Incontinence, I am ready to try the InterStim
procedure.

Has anyone had this procedure done? Was it successful and helped
to relieve "Leakage".?

Thanks for any feedback on this matter.
