Gym.

Even if I have never learned anything else here, it is that in dealing with incontinence there is no such thing as a one size fits all approach!

@Newbie2this Great that you are going to the gym and keeping up healthy activities. As to protection to use I am not the best to give advice since I only deal with night wetting however here are my thoughts.

First I would recommend not limiting your fluid intake. Your body needs the fluids for the workout. As others have suggested I would start out with pull up type protection since the amount of time would be limited and you can change right after in the locker room or back home (assuming you can go right home after. From what you say it seems that by limited your fluid intake that you are not having issues with wetting during the workout so increasing the fluid intake and wearing a pull up type protection sounds like it would work for you. I'd also recommend as others have said wear something like Under Armour sports underwear over them just to help keep them in place. Something to think about.

As to the other convo in this thread Brough up by @brave1 my thought is that people should be able to call what they use what they want to and feel comfortable with. If it is pull up, brief, diaper, protection it only matters what the person using the product feels comfortable with. Everyone has different comfort levels and experiences that form what they are comfortable with. For me I use pull-ups for when I am not sleeping at my place and either call them pull-ups or protection.

I like the dialogue here around what might help out Newbie2this and what words to use when talking about the products we use.

Okaaaayyy, @Jaytee and everybody else here! Since we're on terminology for diapers, etc. I have a post up above that talk about NASA's language regarding astronaut, um, diapers! I said I'm glad we don't have to write out Maximum Absorbency Undergarments all the time.
But I really missed the boat on that one!
Since NASA is a government (or quasi-government) agency we really have to think like the government and do it properly! And that would be .....ready? Undergarments, Absorbency, Maximum. And we would have to put in a catalog number and a parts number and not only that but we would have to submit it in quintuplicate!! :O So isn't it great this forum is NOT a government function?? :D
