Made myself a list of questions to take with me. My hope is to get everything answered.

Here is what I got to ask so far. Anyone has any other things I should ask please feel free to let me know.

Questions for the Doctor.

1)Explain that things have been moved over to a social security disability process.
2)Disability insurance is using a social security firm to apply, initial application denied 12/9/2021 3)Will be filing for reconsideration as well as appeal.
4)What can GI do about 4-6
5)What can be done about the constant pain and fatigue that I am in?
6)What can be done for quality of life improvement?
7)Cannot do more than 30 minutes of movement without accidents, pain, and having to sit. Accidents happen even if I just went to the bathroom.
8)Tell her about the experience with Botox (August 6 with Dr. Long)
Recommendation moving forward.
9)Ask about transit time tests that can be done.
10)Ask about any other test or recommendations that she has (IE seeing a neurologist ect.)
11)Ask about the results of the MRI and repeat any test.
12)Ask about Linzess not working, still prescribed to me.
13)Ask how often moving forward I would need to have a CT scan.
14)Ask how long I can stay on the medication I am on if nothing else is tried.
15)Tell about recommendations from both PCP as well as Colorectal surgery.
16)What type of test would GI need to do before signing off on Ostomy surgery?

I think you are on the right track. But as for the Social Security type questions the doctor may not be in a position to answer those. She could possibly refer you to someone in the office with that type of expertise. She is more in tune with the medical aspects.
But I would definitely stick with the other questions that are related to the medical side of things. I would definitely focus on quality of life and the desire to get rid of the pain and other experiences with discomfort.
If it were me I would ask if there are other viable options to having an ostomy surgery.
And if push comes to shove, I would say, "If you were me and having my issues, what would you do? What would be your choice?"
That's putting her on the spot but this isn't something that you're taking lightly.
And I hope the appointment goes well and that all of your questions are answered and that all concerns are addressed so you have no shadow of a doubt!
We'll be thinking of you!

I hope your appointment goes well, and you get some answers to some of your questions!

I had thought it was your GI who was proposing the ostomy surgery. Is that not the case?

@ThatFLGuy Big day for you tomorrow! Good luck! I like your thorough list of important questions. I have one suggestion: ask questions 15 and 16 first, to cut to the chase. Then move on with the rest of your questions.

Your could also ask her for a referral to a pain clinic so you can finally get some pain relief from a pain specialist.

You could ask her if what had happened to you could have anything to do with your teenage scorpion (you might need to explain to her what a scorpion is).

Well, my appointment went how I figured, hoped it would.

I am going to be having surgery for an ostomy. After being on the medication I am on and trying everything else My GI feels like the surgery is the right move for me.

So on the 21 when I see my Colon doctor that is what will be secluded. Now I just have to get things done at my apartment so when that happens I can have someone here when I get out of the hospital.

GI will be involved after the surgery and also is on board with my disability claim.

She even said that the second I get the surgery scheduled to send that paperwork to Social security.

She also is willing to help if I need more information.

I did go over all my questions as well as day-to-day life with her so she gets an idea of everything.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Will update more once I have a date set.

You've been very brave to take every test to try try everything suggested. The main thing is to get you a quality of life without suffering.

I definitely second what @Maymay941 and @snow both say. As I have said before, find out as much as you possibly can about what to expect and get what you need for your apartment when you come home and have someone available to look after you.
You probably won't be able to drive for some time (maybe a few weeks) so arrange for someone to take you where you need to go.
