So after my RP I have slight urge incontinence
Went thru:
Oxybutinin - bad stuff for me - insomnia/light headed/weird dreams etc
Myrbetriq - good but raised my BP to the 150’s

So now Gemtesa - I just paid $480 for 30 pills ! And that’s without knowing it’ll work. I’ll do it once but does anyone know how to get it any cheaper ?
Insurance won’t pay
Plus anyone having any luck with Gemtesa ?

If you are in the U.S.A
Drugs.com is you best friend when it comes to things like this. This link has two places listed to get it for as between $10-$95 a month.

Did they say why insurance won't pay? I had to get a prior auth for Gemtesa, and it was STILL expensive, but I was able to cut the costs with the manufacturer's coupon. I was on Oxybutnin, Tolteradine, and I think Solifenacin before I could get the prior auth. Check your prescription benefits site and see if this is the case, and get your doc to to some leg work.

Has anyone cut (pretty small pill) pill in half or taken every other day to cut expenses ?
If so what kind of results did it give you ?

If you go to the manufacturer website and have commercial insurance, there is a coupon to reduce the copay to about $10 or so. It really help to afford the gemtesa which works pretty well for reducing urges with urge incontinence. I was peeing every 30 minutes without it and now can go about 60-90 minutes between urges. Gemtesa was the only one that worked for me and it really is well tolerated.

Thanks for the tip !
I’m on Medicare but recently got a 3 month supply for like $600 which sounds high but before I was at $400 plus a month.
I agree the gemtesa works really good.
I tried oxibutinin and myrbetriq both bad stuff for me.
Starting in 2025 I believe there’s a $2,500 total cap on prescription medicine - so that should really help with folks going over they amount.
