14year old boy it’s a medical issue fir bed wetting however , my question is about bed products to use? Laundry every day already (we have 6 kids ages 14-4) but on top of that I’m doing bedding EVERY DAY for this child! He has lived here 5 months now. We just purchased a hospital mattress (vinyl). We have night time depends. I’m at a loss and very frustrated. First visit to urology this last week and he cannot empty bladder completely (more tests to come). Odor in the shared bedroom is toxic in the mornings and I feel sorry fir the other kids too! Suggestions/Help?

I am not sure exactly what you're asking about but if he cannot empty his bladder completely a urologist is a good idea he might need catheterization to help empty his bladder
if you are using Depends are you using tape on diapers or pull-ups I do not recommend the brand Depends there are allot better products on the market and pull-ups do not hold as much as diapers some brands you might look at are Northshore Care, Better Dry, Molicare,Confidry 24/7
one other thing to note plastic backed diapers contain odors much better than the clothlike covers especially the covers that claim to be breathable and the plastic backed sag less when wet

One of my first questions is why is the bedroom smelly? Are the diapers leaking, or smelly urine?

Tranquility ATN diapers are plastic backed, work great, dont cost a ton and if needed you can put a pad in them.

If you look on amazon this air purifier works wonders..

Gideon Mini Plug-in Air Ionizer

That is truly frustrating for you all but like DPcare said you are using a product that is known for being a low end product and with a better product you will find the rest of the issues will either disappear or be greatly reduced!! As far as bedding products, you’ll just have to do some research and call a few medical supply stores to find what works best. But switching diapers will be your biggest help and may just take care of any other problems.

My heart goes out to this boy. He hass been taken from his parents and has a medical issue that disgusts others. What a hard way to be a teen. Glad you are seeking medical help and the folks here are very smart about specific brands of disposable underwear so very good advice here. Northshore brand has an extremely responsive staff and his diaper needs might be covered by Medicaid
I wash my own bedding daily and am grateful for the non judgemental attitude of others.
Lastly, bless you. Taking care of children is an unsung heroes vocation. As human beings we are all messy, hurting and difficult to grow. Frequently confusing and confused as a species but with kindness we can grow to be our best selves. Being a foster is a very very special effort. Thank you.
Ps the air ionizer is an idea i had not heard before!

bottom line is if you use a good quality diaper you should have little to no leakage any diaper will leak but with a good quality diaper you should not have to be washing sheets constantly and odor should be contained and if a diaper says it's breathable it can breathe odors

There are also disposable and reusable underpads that should help preserve the bedding from any leaks.

Mmmm. Ive been thinking.I couldn't help but wonder if the matress is badly permeated and if so what can she do to deodorize it before putting on the matress protector.
I guess maybe rent a carpet steam cleaner (they also are used for upholstered furniture)and an enzyme deoderizing cleaner for "pet soiling". Then douse the matress with baking soda and let dry before replacing the matress protector.

For short term if you are using the pull up depends and he is wetting thru them or they are leaking them stop. Most likely they are too big anyway and will leave gaps at the inside of he legs. Will either try the taped on briefs from depends, which can get a better deal, or go online and find good quality youth diapers. I understand the pullups will probably make him feel better about this, but the taped products work better especially for heavy wetters and night time wetters. Personally I suggest either tranquility youth diapers or northsore youth diapers. I get that's it isn't what you want to hear or what he wants to wear, but until the doctors can find the cuss if there is one it is better than waking up in a wet bed and clothes. Take it from someone who wet the bed until I was 16, and now have no bladder control 24/7.
