For granted.

I think we all do it.

We have a lot of things in this life that we do or did take for granted.

I could write a book on all those things that have just gone away in the last three years.

The big one going on with me right now is that doctors have your best interest/health in mind.

I spent thousands of hours thinking about, researching, and trying to figure out what was going on with my health.

The fact is that growing up I always thought that my health was great. Now I know that it was just an hourglass ready to run out.

This week I had to send a lot of paperwork off. Looking over old school records I got a good look and just how bad things were back then. It also shows why I was only able to be successful in college when I was online and had the ability to use every resurce to be successful.

Now I know why my coordinator for social security wanted documents after binging up my learning disabilities when she asked.

Truth is that without having the Grammarly plugin here on google I would not be able to make what I am typing makes sense. I do type okay due to taking typing in school as part of my ESE education classes but my spelling and grammar are very bad. I also have a lot of trouble counting money which is why in my work history I was never a cashier very long.

I never thought that I would be in a place where I could not do anything that I have ever done for work again.

Even my college degree right now means nothing because I cannot do anything with it due to what is going on with my health and that sucks the most.

But life moves on. I have to just take one day at a time and keep pushing my doctors to do their job and get me to as good of a place as I can be.

Thank you for opening up your struggles in addition to you incontinence mess. I think you manage your brain struggles well; it never occurred to me that you (or anyone else) are using Grammerly. You’re a good writer. And just because you can’t currently put your college education to use doesn’t take away your awesome accomplishment of that achievement. Nobody can take that away from you. The steps that helped you accomplish a college education don’t mean it’s worth anything less; I actually think it makes it mean more - that you were able to find a way and had to work even harder than most. Lots of us here are proud of you for many reasons, including me.

One day at a time. I like that phrase. Keep moving forward @ThatFLGuy; things will get better. I am bad at taking my own advice - but sometimes it's better to hear from others other than ourself.

I know that calms me when my mom talks to me and tells me things are going to be okay. She is very connected to the spirit and Christ - and always assures me that God is on my side; just as He is on your side.

Will be thinking of you buddy.

Blessings In Christ,

@ThatFLGuy

I totally get what you're saying, one day you wake up and things are never the same again. For me, that happened around 2000 at about age 54. Then a rapid decline started around 2015.

However, it also has been a blessing since it has allowed me to read multiple translations of the Bible. I learn and understand new things with each trip through the Bible. All this has drawn me closer to God and given me the ability to debunk and defend against commonly misunderstood thoughts about what God is really like. This is so important, because of all the false TV evangelists and false teachers on social media.

So, while my health and abilities are declining due to age, I am grateful to God for leading me through it all. Even the apostle, Paul, in the New Testament suffered from health problems that Jesus refused to heal.
