I have talked about how bad my past Gastroenterologist was a lot. Well, my new one does not play. My Physical therapist messaged him this morning about repeating the Anorectal manometry test I had done years ago to get an idea of whether anything has changed.

Well, he got that loud and clear. Had his scheduler call me this afternoon, and guess what? My butt is seeing him for the test tomorrow. (Yes, someone else canceled, so I am taking that place, but still)

SO, SO Happy that I might finally have someone who is not going to waste time and try to get me answers so that I can at least know that things are the same.

And he seems like he is willing to listen to others about quality of life things for me.

Well, FML, after all that. At the end of the test today, the CNP who did it told me it will take 2-3 months to get the results. I was Like WTH?? She says yeah unfortunately, the doctor that reads those tests is.....

THE FREAKING GI DOCTOR THAT I KICKED OFF MY CARE TEAM FOR NOT SEEING ME IN ALMOST THREE YEARS.

Yeah I about lost it. Calling my New GI doctor my PT and everyone before end of day.

Hello FLGuy,

Something like that is of course annoying - but I wouldn't be too annoyed either. It's certainly not wrong if you measure from time to time - but you yourself notice the fastest whether something has become better or worse - you don't necessarily have to measure for that.

In the end, the question is always what the purpose of the examinations is. If a new therapy can be derived from this, this is of course important - so I would take care more of the possible therapy and less of the stupid doctor's letter.

The results of the test are your data - they have to give it to you - actually right after the examination - otherwise you can also request it. Whether the doctor needs three months to write his report does not really matter, because the evaluation of the measurement can also be carried out by any other doctor or therapist - preferably also by the one who determines the new therapy.

Therefore: Do not annoy but only take the measurement results and seek another doctor.

By the way, that doctor's letters - especially in hospital examinations - take so long is not so unusual. Most of the time, the doctors are completely overloaded and do something like that at some point in between. Therefore, I would not necessarily assure an intention now.
