Are there any success stories on here of overcoming ED post op?
If so, who will share the time range in which they first started seeing results.
I am 4& a half months post op.
Daily dosage of 5mg Cialis and nothing.
Should I be overly concerned? Or is there hope?

To Wowjustwow: Everyone is different. I am 8 months out of RP surgery. I was taking 40 mg. a day of Sildenifil. All of a sudden I started getting blood flow to the penis, not as erect as before but some. Haven’t tried intercourse yet due to incontinence, but I do wake up with erections, still in pull-ups so not sure how much. Getting close to giving intimacy a try, with protection, of course. So, yes, I believe it is possible. Keep the faith, up your dosage to the max of what your urologist says you can have. Our plumbing is going to take time to heal, so hang in there!

Wowjustwow:

Your post is timely. I just had an appointment with my ED doctor at Mayo Clinic today. I am 75 years old. I had my prostate removed 14 months ago. After about 3 months post op, I began using Trimix injections one to two times per week and 5 mg Cialis daily. I also use Bathmate at least 5 times per week. After about 7 months I noticed I was getting movement down there and an erection of about 4-5 out of ten. Definitely not enough for penetration, but at least I became hopeful. I continued this medication process; Trimix injection, daily Cialis and Bathmate until I saw the doctor today. He did an ultra sound of my penis. He said the nerves were spared during the operation and look good, but they still needed time to heal after the trauma of the operation. He changed my oral prescription once a day to 50 mg of Viagra. He said I can continue to use the Trimix injections. I know the injections sound barbaric but are not as bad as one may think. Once you get used to it the injection is similar to a pin prick. I continue to be hopeful, and you should also be hopeful.

Thanks for the reply.
It's a on going thought of wondering if it'll ever happen!
I know less than 5 months isn't the end of the world. Just wanting to be as close to normal as I can be.
I'm 50 and am hopeful....

Prostatectomy Sept 2020 Male Urethral Sling Surgery Sept 2021
Update June 3, 2022 - 20 months

Tadalafil 10 mg (generic cialis) when catheter was removed and still take.

Pumping at 8 weeks through 12 months 5 times a week.

Trimix penis injections months 6 though 12. The injections made a big difference in getting natural erections. I did the injections only once in months 13, 14, and 15 - no longer needed.

I take tadalafil (10 mg) daily to help blood flow in pelvic area for first 3 months, then for erections. Most men start at 5 mg. I purchased using GoodRx at a local grocery store pharmacy because my insurance did not cover it and the chain pharmacies were much higher. I pay $40 for 90 tablets (3 month supply)

Week 8 - Urologist recommended Bathmate Penis Pump - I told urologist that I seemed to be 1.5 inches shorter

I purchase both the Bathmate Xtreme 5 and the Vacurect pumps. I prefer the Bathmate to the Vacurect.

Vacuum Pumps provide two functions 1) get fresh blood in the penis and 2) getting blood and holding it for pleasure. Important to note that both of the following pumps manufacturers recommend only pumping 10 to 15 minutes a day. The Vacurect STRONGLY notes to only use a tension ring for 30 minutes to keep from causing damage.

In the beginning pumping up for a minute, relax massage for a minute helped more with getting blood to the penis.

I am using the Bathmate hydro extreme 5 (the extreme has a hand pump and hydro means it uses water instead of air). I sit on the corner of the tub with cups of warm water to refill the pump. I pump 3 minutes with 2 minutes massage and repeating 2 more times for a maximum total of 15 minutes. I use a conditioning shampoo when massaging. I did not purchase the overpriced special lubricates. (Not my ideal, someone else mentioned and I like it).

Bathmate is located in the UK and I received mine in a week.
I signed up for the email and they send a code to get 30% off.

I purchased the cushion rings (Accessories _> Extras) to keep my balls from being sucked into the cylinder.

The Vacurect is more for creating an erection and using it. The Vacurect has tension rings that attach to the bottom of the cylinder. I bought the deluxe with 10 tension rings, but the Vacurect OTC with 5 tension rings is cheaper.

8months post. Tadalafil daily and the pump with restriction rings, gets a erection. Only about 75% of pre surgery size. But it works. Am looking into getting the Tri-mix or Bi-mix gels on next appointment. Have had intercourse you just learn to adjust.

7 months post. Taking 25mg viagra a day and pumping daily. I can pump it up, put a ring on it (is that what Beyoncé was singing about?), and go for a minute or two. Hoping for vast improvement, my doc says 6-18 months.
