ED associated with RP

I am almost 13 months post RP. The incontinence has been under control since about month 4. The ED has been an issue. I'm 64, and tried the meds, I am on low dose Cialis now, it seems to increase blood flow, but nowhere near enough to get an erection. I've tried the medical grade vacuum pump. That doesn't seem to do much. I just did the injection yesterday (2ML), it seemed to provide a mild erection. I have to say I thought the needle was painful. I have a follow up with my surgeon in a couple of weeks. Is this pretty much my new normal, or can I still hold out hope for improvement with ED? I appreciate any guidance from those of you with the same issue.

I’ve been told 2 years is when you can expect to see improvement with ED post RP. I’m in the same situation 14 months out

Just about to start trying. I’ve had a lot of incontinence issues and just had an AUS implant. Now that incontinence is better I can start dealing with the ED issues.

I just turned 60 a month ago. I am almost three years from surgery and still using injections. Although once I passed the 14 to 15 month mark I did see some improvement as far as natural erections go. After two years I get a decent erection naturally but it just doesn’t last long. I am pretty much resigned to the idea that I will be on injections until they stop working or until I no longer need them.

Please move this conversation to the mens’ group; women don’t benefit from hearing about your ED.

Sorry Snow. I need to respond to mdoshen. I understand and agree with what you say though.

Hi mdoshen. Do you have an ED specialist you can turn to? In the UK we have ED specialist nurses. I found mine really informative. Maybe try a greater dose of meds or a different type. There is a cream ""Vitaros"". This has only recently received UK approval. Surgeons are very good with a knife but I doubt if many have the time to keep track on this specialist subject. There is a penile prostheses which is hidden inside. I have not seen any feedback on anyone who has had it though.See following link:
