Disabled people and incontinence diapers

You are not being unreasonable/unrealistic.

Many people here are like "Try MEGA MAX, Mega max are the best, Mega max, mega max" At $3 a diaper, no.

don't forget that's $3.00 + shipping

I know that north shore diapers cost more but I talked with north shore diapers they help me out by not paying for shipping. Every little bit helps. I don't think north shore diapers will do it for everyone.

@ThatFLGuy - Thank you for understanding the reality that for most of us - it is the financial aspect that will always determine what products we use. I understand that Depends pull ups are not the top of the line for UI. I would love to be able to use the brand names that are obviously a better choice, but of course they are more expensive. - Yes, there is the argument that in the end you may use less of "the better" product possibly making them the better financial choice - but I can't afford that experiment to find out if that would be true or not. - I am happy for those people who can use those great products, but I don't know what else I could trim from my budget to do that. - Pam

I have mostly used the Tranquility ATN briefs. As well as the Tranquility booster pads and bed pads. For quite awhile now. That's the best our insurance will pay for I think. There are better briefs on the market. And I've used others. The Tranquility briefs are certainly better then the ones provided in the hospital and during the time. I was in a long term care center.

Budget is everything to those of us on disability.

Just not having BetterDry/Crinklz available makes my budget go crazy if things come up.

Food is a big thing for me because I get under $200 in food stamps. That is hard to space out over a month without adding some other money.

My whole budget has to be reworked this year due to changes in cost and that will mean either giving up things or doing with less.

Using the diapers that I do is a big expense for me but that expense pays off in both mental health and not being a hermit all the time.

Also getting into new hobbies means spending money on things that I would not be able to do before unless I am willing to eat for cheap.

I have been trying out the Beyond 5000 diapers and they have one huge advantage which is a love/hate for me. The velcro tabs make it so I can get them off and then use the bathroom and put them back on. The hate part is that they are not as comfortable as betterdry but that is a good trade-off for not having a lot of bowel accidents that need changing all the time.

This all might change if doctors put me on medication but I have to wait and see.

@ThatFLGuy - Just curious. - IS there actually a medication that could work well for you? It would be great if insurance or whoever would cover it. - Yeah, THE BUDGET. But, hey - we all could eat cereal for dinner! - "Let them eat cake." - Pam

I was scheduled to have Better Dry shipped to me and was informed they were not in stock, neither were Crinklz. I had to purchase Beyond 5000. These are considerably more costly. I may try Tranquility ATN with pads if the Beyond’s do not work. The Better Dry are suppose to be back in stock the end of March.
Best wishes to all
