Diapers give me freedom

Today I went to a punk outdoor fest (on my own in my chair mind you!) No bathrooms other than restaurants which did not have accessible bathrooms. I wore a MegaMax with no issues. This is my first time doing this in YEARS and it felt SO good! Grateful for good products these days that allow me to go out with confidence.

I'm glad you had a good time!

Lots of us have disabilities of various kinds, and it's easy to let those become an excuse for not going out and doing fun things. Good on you for not letting your own challenges get in the way of doing something you enjoyed!

I was out for all nine days (ten days, really) of Balloon Fiesta this year, despite my ostomy pouch and my diapers. I took the supplies I needed, put up with the security people wanting to look in my bag, and had a fantastic time.

I started to lose bladder control after a spinal injury in my mid 20s and long ago accepted that wearing disposable adult nappies was the best way for me to manage my incontinence. I had tried various drugs, catheters, leg bags etc but always found adult nappies the best way. I was lucky to be advised and supported by my local NHS Continence Nurse specialist in this decisions and so my products are supplied by the NHS. For me, they have enabled me to live a full and active working life. Sure there are challenges - such as changing at work or when out and about - but frankly I just treat them as my underwear. Initially it did stop me from going out, staying away and forming relationships but I eventually had a couple of understanding girlfriends and then I met my wife and have been very lucky to have been married to a very special person for the last 30 years. We travel quite a lot and I have found airlines very helpful giving me an extra baggage allowance for medical products.

The balloon festival seems spectacular. Have a couple of friends that were there and sent me photos. PS Good for you being there.

Lifelong bedwetter and daytime struggler as well. I have always stayed diapered at night. For years tried to battle my daytime leaking issues with thick underwear and plastic pants. As disposables developed I found going to quality tape on briefs during the day work best for me. I no longer have any daytime stress about leaking and just have to be aware when I’ve pushed my diaper to the limit. Sometimes inconvenient but aside from that the last 20+ years of 24/7 diaper use has been wonderful.

Acceptance is a good thing. The worst is when anxiety and fear is taking away your life. Good that you have found a solution that works for you (y)
