So I've had incontinence issues all my life.. only urinary and the interesting thing is is it will come and go.. sometimes I will have it every night other times I may go weeks there was even one time that I went a few years with no accidents at all well for the most part
Anyway about 3 years ago the bed wetting came back with a vengeance.. and it's never really went away since..
What about a month and a half ago I had some kidney stone issues.. and since then I've been having accidents about every other day.. and it's actually been more in the last week nearly every day.. sometimes more than once a day
I find that it's pretty obvious when it's going to happen... Basically if I haven't been to the toilet in 45 minutes it's almost a guarantee
I anyway I've had several daytime wetting accidents since then and I'm going to see the urologist next week
I found out that my insurance company will cover 75% of incontinence products.. but the problem I'm running into is when I look at their DME list and I call the DME to talk to them they say that they only work with medicaid.. but my insurance company assures me that that is not true
One of the DME companies even claimed that no dma companies work with anybody other than Medicaid... I don't get that
But anyway if I can get the insurance company to pay for 75% of my diapers.. that could save me so much money
I'm hoping that some of you who have commercial insurance as opposed to Medicaid in the US can tell me which DME they used to get their incontinence supplies covered
I've been told that if my insurance company claims that you have a benefit and they don't have a contract allowing the client, in this case myself, to take advantage of that benefit that they've already paid for, that the insurance company would have to make a one-time contract with somebody out of network in order to cover it.. but that's a legal battle potentially that I don't think I can afford to fight
I was also hoping somebody could make some recommendations as far as adult diapers go... I prefer a tabbed diaper... I don't really trust pull-ups, I would wear them if it was a good deal... And I think I would prefer a cloth back to paper because this would be a diaper I would wear during the day and when I'm out and about... Another reason I'm not interested in pull-ups is because I was a kid when pull-ups came out.. and I can't tell you how many toddlers I saw running around pee all around the legs of their shorts because they're pull-up head leaked
Not to mention it's really hard to change a pull-up in a stall because you have to take your clothes off.. that's not very practical so I'd rather just stay with a tabbed diaper as they are far more convenient and quite frankly they leaked a lot less
Ideally I would like to keep my cost down to less than $2 a day for diapers for the day and right now I'm using medical diapers.. they were super cheap I got 72 of them for $20 from a lady on facebook.. a third of their normal price.. so I don't feel bad about it, I'm just not thrilled with the performance is all
