Diabetes and the onset of enuresis ?

I had another wetbed occurrence last night out of nowhere (3rd occurrence) Alot of people are telling me I might be diabetic but according to the so called "professionals" they claim I'm not even though my lab results indicate elevated blood glucose,elevated urine glucose, rbc in urine, 100 + wbc in urine, dangerous elevation of ketones in blood and urine, protein in urine, epithelial cells in urine, blood in urine but the professionals in texas say everything looks good.

I have cracked dry lips daily, extreme thirst that can not be quenched. You know that pruney skin you get after taking a shower that returns to normal after a few hours ? Well it never goes away for me, it's 24/7. I have blurry vision and headaches that comes and goes acutely and at random. Frequent high volume urination one day then the following day I will only urinate once and it will be dark and concentrated. Lethargic. Does this sound like diabetes ? Does anyone have these symptoms and have been diagnosed with diabetes ? I have been dealing with the so called "professionals" in ft worth texas for approximately 8 months and still no diagnosis no answers no medicine .... nothing.

Your DR should be drawing blood for an A1c test. The A1c test is an analysis of how much blood sugar was in your blood over the previous 90 days. A value will be computed. The value is compared to a chart that should tell you if you are diabetic or not. I have the test performed twice a year now. Been a type II diabetic for about 25 years. Until you check for diabetes your just guessing. I was not aware before a health fair at work caught the nurse's attention and she told me to see a DR. I check my blood sugar at home daily. Do you know anyone who is diabetic? If they check at home ask if they will check you. It requires a finger prick to get a drop of blood. Normal blood sugar is a value of 140 or less 2 hours after a meal. If higher, you should be checking with a DR.

Do a Google search on diabetes insipidus. I would not get too far down the rabbit hole , but if you think the symptoms sound similar you could approach your doctor.

Whatever you decide you, I would definitely get a second opinion.

I would certainly be getting checked out by another Doctor. My bedwetting and incontinence is caused by diabetic neuropathy and if I hadn't started wetting the bed I doubt I would have got checked for diabetes until it was too late. I had no idea I was diabetic and probably had been for years.

@Danman

Thank you for reading my post and for your reply too. It helps to know that someone else has the same symptoms so it can guide me in the right direction

Diabetes will show itself in a number of different ways. For me it's nearopathy in the feet and urinary troubles (unable to pee). So I wear a bag on my leg for same. Some people go blind. Others lose their co-ordination. It ain't fun in any event.That said watch what you eat. The less sugary stuff the better.

@GM1258

Thanks for your reply and the information. I have all the classic signs and symptoms of diabetes and my test results consistently show elevated glucose in blood and urine and I have neuropathy in my feet and legs and arms, random blurry vision, frequent urination one day then the next day I have no urine output but the so called "professionals" of texas healthcare have dismissed every sign, symptom and lab results.

My MD is referring me to a urologist.
Maybe he can do a better job.
Again, no cause & effect given to me.
Just double talk.
I dunno how these clowns got a degree.

@GM1258

Glad to know someone else can also see the incompetence and malpractice of the so called "professionals" of healthcare that make six to seven figure salaries and they have no answers with their repeat appointments. That's called easy money.

it's pretty easy to tell if you're diabetic...if your blood glucose is over 126, congrats you're diabetic. You can just go buy a meter and strips and check....

but if your doctor says you're not diabetic then you're probably not...the basic blood work they do during a physical includes a basic metabolic profile which includes checking glucose.
