Can your pelvic floor be too tight?

Hi, yes it can be. Mine was and I had to do breathing exercises focusing on relaxing down there along with internal massage to relax the muscles before I could begin pelvic floor exercises to strengthen them up again. I saw a great pelvic floor physio who diagnosed and then gave me all the relevant techniques to help. Have a look at Laura Mitchell on YouTube for some help too.
 
@Dawnmichlitsch, Yes. The exercises used for a weak PF can be problematic for those with a hypertonic PF as it adds muscle tension to an already tight/stressed PF.

Relaxation exercises like yoga stretches and stress reducing breathing (mindfulness) are some of the techniques my PT had recommended. [as mentioned previously by @Dancer2]
