Bleeding when urinating, Constant UTIs

Its been a while since Ive posted but Im hoping someone can shed some light on my situation.
I have 2 nephrostomy tubes and I am still incontinent. I have sharp pain when I urinate that seems to be in the area of my ureathra. I bleed profusely when I urinate. I have been checked for cancer but my 3rd urologist ca not find a reason for the bleeding. In the past this bleeding has resulted in sepsis.
I am concerned that this will happen again. After treatment for the sepsis I had 3 months of no bleeding and then it came back.
Has anyone in this group had anything like this happen to them?

@graphicedge:

The only times I have visible blood in my urine is during a kidney stone. However, I'm not a doctor but have prior experience with Sepsis (in my family).

If your urinary system is linked to past involvement with Sepsis please contact a local urgent car or medical center in your local area.

Sepsis is not something to play around with; from what I've learned it's an infection that when gets into your bloodstream can heavily damage your other body systems.

Anyway, im no doctor and cannot give out medical advice and this forum is typically for group support purposes - but unless you have something inside of your bladder, kidney, or ureter; you typically shouldn't be seeing physical blood in your urine.

Please contact a medical physician and keep us updated. We want to make sure your Okay.

Edit: I just did some research in what is called a Nephrostomy Tube. Again I'm no doctor but I would ask the urologist/doctor and see if the tubing that is inside your kidney when moved or shifting is causing damage to your delicate tissue which would cause visible blood to show up in your urine.

I can relate to that since when I had a kidney stone I had to have a Stent put in prior to receiving lithrotripsy from my kidney to my bladder which allowed my kidney to function without being blocked by the stone - but the Stent itself caused major bleeding in my urinary tract due to the motion of it inside those organs.

I'm just thinking of anything to put your mind at ease. But regardless of how many opinions from prior urologists- please ask these questions so you know what to expect.

Prayers 🙏

Thanks for responding. I have an appointment to have my neph tubes replaced this coming week. There really isn't any blood in my neph drainage bags. The pain I have is in the area of my urethra. The blood is always in my depends. I also have an appointment with a urogynecoligist to see if I can get some help with this and hopefully not let this turn into sepsis again.

@graphicedge Oh my gosh, how horrible. I’m sorry you’re experiencing something so horrendous, and worse, not diagnosable (yet). I wish you well. And @Honeeecombs is correct: never mess with sepsis. I’m sure you know this well.

Thanks Snow, that's why I looking for answeres or at least a way to deal with this so I don't get sepsis again. It was not fun.
