Big life update from new doctor.

My new doctor is very upset that several tests were not done by my Gastroenterologist. This leaves me with just a few options that depends on past records that were not released with my other records from my first surgery in Florida. If there is no pathology records from my first abscess and bowel perforation, no pathology from my first colonoscopy, and no pathology records from my first surgery then I’m stuck having my Ostomy reversed so that after we can do tests that Gastroenterologist never did.

New surgery doctor looked over all the records that were given and is very concerned about my pelvis floor instability and that the other doctors have not done anything except small things to help with the spasms and stuff. He actually said that it was F-ing BS that Gastrointestinal did not do a Marker test on me. I told him that they were worried that the markers would get stuck and that the test would take too long. (Bs he said, you have been NPO for 11 days before I will keep you here for a week and get you X-ray every two hours until everything comes out or I will go in and get the marker’s. That basic stuff but would have given us so much useful information about how you digest food.) All in, going to Hersey’s IBD center was the best thing I’ve done. They treated me like they really wanted to get me better rather then “well this is not going to kill you”.

The biggest thing is that if pathology exists that showed anything bad then my new surgeon feels like the only option is to remove my bowel and sew everything else up down there. That’s a huge surgery and makes my Ostomy permanent. But also gives him the chance to fix my Ostomy and make it more comfortable for me.

I will keep you’ll updated on what happens in the next few weeks with next steps after I find out if there are pathology records.

@ThatFLGuy - Amazing isn't it that your new doctor was willing to call out your other doctors for being inept? Most of the time, they tend to cover for each other. Sounds like you've got yourself a keeper finally. Good luck and keep us posted. - Pam

That's such good news that you have a doctor who's willing to push for your health! I hope you're able to finally get the answers you need.

I’m relieved to hear you finally went to another doctor like most of us have been encouraging you to do for at least five years now. See, we do know what we’re talking about. I’m glad your girlfriend finally got you to listen and take action.
