Before RP

Did many suffer from incontinence before RP surgery? I leaked with every step i took it seemed and had a very difficult time peeing. Yes id rather wear a diaper than to go back and have trouble peeing.

I did them before surgery and went to a pelvic floor Dr before surgery. I do them now but probably not as much as I should.

I have not had surgery yet but I have seen a therapist and perform exercises daily. They have me trying to retract testicles for 10s then rest 10s next I try to retract penis for 10s and relax 10s.Finally I do both for 10s and relax 10s. I do this 40x a day. Just wondering if there are any other exercises people are doing. Squats?

I went 16 months post RP with almost no control despite Kegels, PT, TENS, lots of walking, etc. About 6 months after RP, I had back surgery which didn’t help. Finally joined the AUS camp a few weeks ago. It’s good to be dry.

I’m almost 14 months after surgery still leaking and raw a lot of the time called my surgeon and his nurse ask a lot of questions and one was about kegel exercises this from a doctor who told me he doesn’t believe in kegel , but yes I’m doing them. Still waiting on my surgeon to call been about a week. Finally went to my regular doctor and he prescribed some cream and a pill for my leaking. Kinda feel like the surgeon has a lack of compassion. But reading some post I’m not the only one out here.

I had urinary frequency and urge/reflex issues prior to surgery and occasional fecal incontinence After surgery I had stress incontinence added to this and extreme pelvic pain due to nerve issues. The pelvic pain is caused by nerve issues which are also affecting my continence. After 18 months the pelvic pain has gotten to a level I can deal with after therapy and nerve block. The nerve is ultra sensitive to any pressure or muscle tension in the pelvic area. I am glad to be where I am at because the pain was stopping me from sitting, driving, sleeting and having a life. While I still have incontinence problems I handle this with protection and enjoy my grandchildren. Wishing everyone happiness always

I had absolutely no issues before RP. At over two years I still have some leaking, dry at night but a fair bit if I am very active. If I'm going out for the day I usually use the external catheter which is great for keeping me dry. I had considered the AUS and may think about that option again during the winter months as long as my PSA remains undetectable

I had OAB, but no leakage prior to RP in Aug. 2021. Have had incontinence ever since RP with no relief in sight. I may have to opt for another surgical procedure for AUS, but I'm afraid of going under the knife again.
