Back home. Getting to old.

Well, I am back home from my short trip to Florida. I am getting too old. Years ago, I would drive straight through. It's only 16 hours with gas stops. This trip back kicked my butt. I ended up trying to take a nap in the back of my car for a few hours after my guts and bladder decided to hate me(Me being stupid, My parents gave me money for a hotel for the night but I have never needed to stop)

Yeah, I will not be doing that trip like that again.

I would stay until next week but my car only held so many supplies with everything else we had to take down. As it was I went through 6 diapers on the trip back up. That's a lot for me in a 24-hour time.

Not to get my spring cleaning done. My little sister is going to be here in PA next month for a few days and I want to have a get-together at my house.

Do you prefer to stay in PA in the long run for "better?" Medical care?

Family in Florida.
However my impression in Florida from working with advocating for elderly there is fast paced show me the money medical approach not quality

The cost of living prevents me from moving back to Florida. My apartment is $600 a month whereas the same space in Florida is $1600-2000

I cannot/will not live with my parents. And I like where I live here in Pa. I am in the same town that I was born in. My Nanny (Grandmother) is five doors down the street. And All of my cousins live here. If my health had not wrecked everything would have been much better up here.

Heck, when I was working I was clearing $4,000 a month with just normal hours and I worked extra shifts as required every week and it never hit over time but we got a pay bump for working an extra day.

Now I live off just what I get in SSDI.

There is nothing for what I pay for rent in Florida.

As much as I can afford I try to get out and play Magic the Gathering. Didn't get out this month due to $$$ but will be soon.

That’s how I feel about driving to and from L.A. and SLC. I used to be able to do it with one stop for gas, peeing, and snacks. Did it for decades, from age 16 to age 45, often back and forth with only a couple of days in between. Did it three years ago with breaks overnight halfway, and that still wasn’t anywhere near enough time for rest. I was exhausted my entire trip and it wasn’t pleasant. Back then, I didn’t know that the leg spasms and weirdo pains I was experiencing while driving were because I needed hip replacements. Next time, I need a driving partner, or to fly then rent a car. What a drag, either way.

I’m so terrified of TSA and even though I love to fly, I’m not sure I’ll ever willingly put myself through TSA’s harASSment again. I ***hate*** TSA. They’re just there to throw their weight around and love to make you miss you flight by punishing you for wearing diapers, rather than showing empathy for the disabled.

If I had a travel partner, I’d probably have more fun.

I will be 40 this November and age is kicking my butt.

My parent's house, where I grew up in Florida is in St. Augustine. From my apartment here in PA to their house in Florida is right at 1,000 miles depending on which way I travel. I will not go through Washington D.C. This means a longer drive but also less stress.

I will not fly. Been offered a few free flights by my parents since I got sick. Going from PA to FL is not bad but on the way home the Orlando Fl airport is like Fort Knox. So screw that. Every horror story you can think of has happened to people with disabilities at Orlando International Airport. The cheap airline loves making you fly back out of there so, yea, NOPE!

Also with all the crazy things coming out about some of the new jets, HECK NOPE!! My dad is a plane crash survivor so I know all about stuff that can go wrong with bad airplanes.

I would take the train but it is so much more money than flying.
