Axonic Device

Had FDA-approved Axonic device implanted under my skin at Sacral level of my Spine on April 7, 2023. It was to the right of Spine at top of buttocks. It was done under twilight sleep. Afterwards I had diarrhea for some reason. What was implanted was the device, two leads & a battery. I couldn't take a bath for two weeks. The Axonix is helping. I can go longer without peeing, so I'm using less pads. It's not affecting Fecal Incontinence though. Still getting a lot of liquid secretion. Then I got a bladder infection. Went to Sutter Walk-In Clinic. Was prescribed Macrobid. Took for 5 days. Turned out to be wrong antibiotic. UTI caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae. Supposed to take Bactrim. But because take Geodon, my primary care physician has to prescribe it. The combination of Bactrim & Geodon can affect the QT of the heart. So I called Dr. Chung today requesting a RX for Bactrim. Waiting to hear back from her. Axonic comes with remote
control. Axonix device& remote control designed to last 15-17 years!

@pegasi99 Sorry to hear you’ve had post-op complications. Glad you’re getting to the bottom of the antibiotics you need, and great to hear you’re having fewer leaking episodes!

Thank you Dan & Snow! Yes, couldn't ask for a longer-lasting device! I have a remote control. My urogynecologist also has a "motherboard" whereby she can remotely program her patients' Axonic devices as well! It's very interesting! My UTI has nothing to do with the Axonic device. At least, I don't believe so. I am prone to getting bladder infections due to Fecal Incontinence. It could be, though, that the surgery in general upset my system. It did cause diarrhea. For the 1st time ever I had a Klebsielle pneumoniae infection. So took a 1-time antibiotic treatment for it. The name of the antibiotic escapes me for the moment. Sure hope it works!
