artificial urinary sphincter

I am considering having an artificial urinary sphincter implanted to help solve my post surgery incontinence. Is there anyone out there who has had this done? What is it like to live with one? I would like some real life experience to help me decide what to do.
Thanks so much to anyone who can help me decide.

Just finished my 6th week post-op. My activation appointment is on 10/19. Expect soreness and some swelling in the perineal and testicular sac areas that take a long time to heal. Those areas on me are still a little sore. Use a pillow to sit on hard surfaces and practice good hygiene. Corn starch works great for any rash. I’m 78 and with 90% odds of having my life back, these are inconveniences. Get several opinions on the surgeon and use the search option as recommended by snow

I've had 2 the 2nd one after 8 years. You asked, "What is it like to live with one?", my answer, "You can't LIVE without one"!!
