Any issues with that @DPCARE ?

I guess there are some differences between the genders and the kind of incontinence issues we struggle with. Historically I think it is a fact that woman health has often been neglected. I applaud male studies as well - but it doesn’t offend me that some studies are female only. Gender neutrality would probably just made the study more complicated.

I am very concerned about the authenticity of this survey. There is no information about the identity(ies) of the investigator(s), no contact information, no information for anyone who might be upset or otherwise harmed by any of the questions. I have been retired for over a decade, but I doubt that the Federal regulations regarding research that involves human subjects have changed so much that the NYU Langone Institutional Review Board would have approved this study as it is being presented to us. I plan to call tomorrow and try to confirm whether this is legitimate. Shall report my findings to this group.

@ Diana Very good! Research should be serious! Very good with some qc - should be a serious institution behind 👍

Thank you for all the comments. As we have mentioned several times in the past, you can be sure that anything posted by NAFC (the owners of this forum) has been fully vetted and is legit. We would never post information about a survey that we have not had in-depth conversations about or have not already extensively vetted.

The survey is being conducted by NYU Langone Health. If you would like to learn more about the study opportunity, including contact information for questions, please visit this page on the nafc website: https://nafc.org/seltzer-study/

Before I saw the posting from NAFC, I called the NYU Langone Institutional Review Board, but they were unable to identify the study from the title of the survey and without the principal investigator’s name. I forwarded the email to them at their request as I was unable to extract the survey and send it separately. Stay tuned.

@DPCARE Excuse me, next to nothing is known about women’s incontinence compared to the huge amount of information that is known about men’s incontinence. Look how many more treatment solutions you have than we have. So yeah, damn straight, women are ***finally*** getting more studies done right now. Why do men get so offended when women actually get some medical attention for a change, huh? Why is it so offensive to you when you already have so many more studies done about men and solutions for men, than for women? It’s our turn so back off!

@DPCARE There’s no reward for doing the survey. Since you’re so jealous about it why don’t you just go take it and see what a pain in the ass it actually is. It’s not a fun thing to do and there’s no prize for doing it.

I'm not jealous about anything but people doing things like that seem to forget that men can be incontinent granted there is a higher prevalence in women but it doesn't make people like myself any less incontinent

@Diana I took the survey and had no problems whatsoever completing it. They don’t ask for any personal information. They just want to know if you drink something like Perrier, does it make you pee more. It’s a very simple survey. There is no reward for completing it. If you don’t want to participate, it’s very simple: don’t participate!
