Anxiety about trips

I’m going out for my first couples trip in a long time. Myself and my gf and two other couples will be staying in a beach house for MDW. I’m extremely nervous about wearing my protection around my friends (they don’t know about my incontinence).I’m worried about overnight leaks on a mattress that isn’t mine, also I’m going to have to find a way to dispose of the used diapers in the morning without being seen. I’m hoping I can get away with my discreet pull-ups during the daytime and while out and about. I’m having a ton of anxiety about the whole thing. Hopefully my body cooperates and I can find a way to relax and enjoy the trip

Just relax and have a good time. Don't worry about anyone finding out you need protection. Just tell them you hurt your back a few years ago, and this is the result. Being adults, they should understand and NOT make an issue about it. Take some disposable bed mats with you for the mattress.
Good luck and have fun

May i suggest you do all the normal protective stuff you usually do for day and night

Bring disposable bed pads and lay a generous portion around your side of the bed.

Bring trash bags and dispose of stuff matter of factly without a fuss but don't feel the need to apologize explain or joke. You have a medical condition.

Limit morning coffee to half a cup and alcohol to glass or one beer.

Remember you are FAR FROM ALONE if your friends have any medical issues what so ever they will one day and most likely are dealing with allergies gluten free diets irritable bowel seven as we speak!

I apologize for not knowing your prior medical history, but in my case (prostatectomy), everyone that I know well realizes what I am going through. The truth has set me free. I went on a road trip two weeks ago, staying at a relative's house for a week. No hiding anything, I brought garbage bags for my disposables and I used extra precautions in the bed at night. Today back at home someone asked me to play pickleball an additional two hours. I declined telling them my pads couldn't handle that length of time. I can joke about my condition and everyone treats me with respect. I have nothing to be ashamed of. Nor do you.

A friend of mine recommended using the small bags that are used for disposing of dog poop. They are small enough to carry a roll with you all the time, and work very well for pads and the depends pull ups also. They also help with odor control in the trash can, just twist them up and tie the end. Good luck with your travels.

Everybody here has great things to say for this post! All of it is completely spot-on! And everyone has such good advice for any time any of us hits the road. It's also good for times when we stay home and mingle with friends and relatives etc. Everyone who is flummoxed by incontinence needs to read the comments here.
And @Dcny, this weekend sounds like a wonderful opportunity, so do what you need to do to prepare and just leave the anxiety at home and go and have a great time this weekend! Just completely enjoy!!

Hope your trip will go well or has already gone well. I agree with others, anytime I’ve been faced with travel issues I just inform people and have never gotten negative or immature responses. If people are friends or relatives, open honesty works.
