Well, I got talked into house/dog sitting for my brother in August, and babysitting in November.

The big thing is that he lives on a U.S. military base. I totally get why security is so high and knew that it would be bad getting on base but I am still stressing about it.

I started looking into the pre-check I have to do once he sends me the official link and was like WTH.

I am thinking of getting something like the TSA card for the gate when I go so they kind of have a heads up on what will be in my bags as they have to check everything.

Hello FL Guy,

It’s different than TSA. You won’t be screened at the gate. You’ll get a civilian visitors pass for your vehicle and you. You’ll have a limited sponsored pass.

It will be set for an allowable time period only. The dates you’re expected to be on base. You’ll have limitations. And you only. You will not be allowed to carry any passengers or your own visitors onto base with you.
You’ll need your car registration, drivers license, proof of insurance.
All working lights on vehicle and valid plates.

You might have to make your first visit at the appropriate gate/visitors ctr. With your brother/sponsor. This is to have them review your documents as stated, note purpose of visit, receive your pass. This may include a photo shot of you for your pass.

Make sure you drive all posted speed limits. They don’t hesitate for a moment to write a ticket.

Enjoy that time. Visits on military bases are nice. Well kept grounds. Nice for walking and bike riding.
