Well with cold weather comes pipe issues.. And my whole town has no water...
Would not be so bad but that also means that I have no heat.

Good thing I have a lot of covers and jackets because it is way too cold for this Florida raised boy to be okay.

that does suck we got dumped with snow today and lost power for almost 5 hours and I have electric heat

Wow! That really sucks rocks!!! IS there some place in a different place where you can go to stay warm???? And having lived in Florida for many years myself, I really sympathize with you. I hope you can find someplace warm and also that they get the pipes fixed pronto!!!

Good! Hopefully, they got it before your pipes froze!
Our house is "winterizeable", but it takes about half a day to drain, blow out any lurking water, etc. Did it twice, the 1st winters we moved here. I so do not want to have to do that again....
Hey DPCARE! Electric heat might be cheaper than a plumber to fix burst pipes. We pay 17cents/kW. Yuck.

Here in Albuquerque when the fall nighttime temp drops to 33 F. I turn off the outside water and shut down the automatic sprinklers. Then on warm days if I want to water outside I turn on the water again for that job. When I lived in Colorado at 9,000+ ft we kept a slow trickle of hot water going all winter in the mobile homes we rented out. In my neighborhood in Albuquerque the water pipe from the street easement to the house is 18 inches below ground and not likely to freeze. I sure don't envy you folks in the East your snow storms. In Colorado we commonly got over 100 inches of snow a year. After 10 years of that we moved to NM, without jobs to go to and only slightly knew two people. We didn't have any health problems which would have mitigated that decision. We all do what we must or can do.

I'm happy for you ThatFLGuy, that you didn't have to spend the night with no heat. Hope you have water now too.
