Water Pills

Hello everyone. I just returned back home from the doctors. I was in for a physical. Found out today that my edema in my legs are getting worse. My doc has me on a water pill called Furosemide 20MG. This in my first time taking these kinda pills. Is there anyone out here familiar with this pill I'll be taking? I did reviews on it. They all say, be ready to be peeing very 15 to 30 minutes until your body gets use to the water pill. Does this mean I should double up on my supplies for a while until things calm down? Like to hear some input.

That's a low dose. I take 80mg. daily. It starts working in less than an hour, and lasts for the better part of six hours. It's also tough on your kidneys. I usually get a two minute warning before I have to pee. You may be peeing every 10-15 minutes for several hours. I time my water pill so I am a home for an extended time

I take 40mg of furosemide. I wet the bed every night, so I use washable bed pads and towels to protect the sheets. I sleep in a water bed so do not have to protect the mattress. I love my solution: I take the furosemide on the way to bed. I’m gonna wet the bed anyway… and a positive side effect is that I seem to get dehydrated from the pill so I tend not to have accidents during the day. So I don’t have to run to and from the bathroom for six hours while I’m awake and risk accidents. Good luck! (NB: the trademarked name of the drug is Lasix because it LAsts SIX hours!)

I ordered 5 more cases of diapers to be on the safe side on top of my big summer order that came a few weeks ago. I hope that's enough. I am hoping this will take the edema swelling down some in my legs.

I avoid taking lasix near bed time. I will bed wet anyway. If I take it at bedtime, my wife will make me sleep in the bathtub, because I will wet so much.

I use compression socks on my legs. It helps push water out of my body and reduce swelling. So socks stay on 24/7 unless I shower, then I remove them to wash them. I have several extra pairs
