Urethral bulking

I’m looking for any information or advice on urethras bulking versus surgical procedures.

My urologist said this had a very low success rate which agreed with my research. I opted for the sling procedure which has worked very well for me. Has been 6.5 months since sling surgery and 99% success. I was a good candidate for the sling procedure.

Since I have had radiation, my doctors say that I am not a good candidate for the sling. Worse, my leakage has worsened by several times over the past year. I was hoping for an alternative to AUS surgery.

I had a prostatectomy in Aug 2018. Later had hormone treatment for 1 year starting in Sept 2019 and had radiation in Feb-Mar of 2020. I had the sling operation in Nov 2021 and it was successful. So apparently radiation alone doesn’t negate sling surgery, although the clinical studies about sling surgery are done on patients who have not had radiation.
I would ask for more specifics or maybe speak to a different urologist to get a different opinion.
