Sorry I haven't been posting on here much! Hope everyone's doing okay!

It's been a busy time. Finally saw a Long Covid expert (only taken three and a half years!) and it was amazing. Restored my faith in doctors! After so long of being gaslit by medical professionals it was great to feel vindicated by someone explaining things I thought were the case. He explained that he's seen that Long Covid seems to worsen certain things with people with ADHD which explained numerous issues I have. Unfortunately, they still have no idea how to fix it but certain medications have been shown to help and he prescribed Duloxetine which has been a huge help. It's helped with the incontinence to the extent I can go back to wearing DryNites around the house now and again.

In terms of the getting back to being productive stuff it's a mixed bag. Sadly going back to uni wasn't a thing this year due to my health and I've had some less than stellar experiences at events and short courses accessibility wise. Fortunately the end of 2023 was a lot better than the start! I did a voice acting course that was the first thing since 2020 I haven't had to drop out of due to health. It was super fun and it was great to be around people again and not stuck in the house! Signed up for next term as well. I also went the furthest I've been in a wheelchair and travelled up to Manchester for the For the Love of Horror convention and had an absolute blast! Find Manchester's even easier than London access wise!

Looking forward to 2024, feeling confident that uni can be a thing given how the voice acting's gone and feeling positive for the fist time in ages!

Another country heard from!!
So glad you popped in. You always persevere and make the best of what is available.
Clever voice acting I'm sure it's a lot more creative interesting and tolerant people.

Go 2024 see you there!

Hey Sci_Fi_Fan;

Glad to hear you are doing well. :D So nice to have an update from you. Have you played any new video games lately?

Sincerely,
Honeeecombs

@Sci_Fi_Fan Great to hear. Even if the news is not a solution sometimes it is good to hear that there is a reason for things and that people believe and know that you are going through stuff that is beyond your control.

Thanks guys!

@Honeeecombs Mainly been gaming on my Switch, going through Detective Pikachu at the moment.

Great to hear of the improvements. Everyone on this forum understands the ups and downs that these medical conditions cause. I hope the next stage of the journey is a positive one.

@Sci_Fi_Fan - So happy to hear that 2023 is ending better than it started. Things are looking up for 2024 it seems. Voice acting lessons sound like they could be fun, but I would be so nervous. Not for you! Have a blast! - Pam

Great to hear from you. V good news about the Long Covid specialist. Excllent about voice acting course and trip to Manchester. I think of you whenever - it's not often - I take a light rail tram or local train in Dublin, and read the announcements they always give about the number of lifts that are out of order ... Best of luck for 2024 and further progress.
