Hello...

I have been suffering from stress/urge incontinence for about 20ish years. I have a brain malformation which caused hydrocephalus.. Then in 2015 a car accident caused a compound fracture of my heel and a broken ankle. My urge to get up was okay untill I was 100% non-weight bearing for 6-8 weeks...so I essentially trained myself to got get the messages any more while sleeping (ie Im a bed wetter now)... from wear diapers and pads 24/7 I am now experiencing itching and irritation. Am I alone in this?? Anybody recommend something for the itch relief... When it itches, I scratch and that causes cuts and nicks in my vaginal area..and then when I leak..pain and burning from the urine contacting that cuts and nicks..

I currently am using a steriod prescription, desiten extra strength and also Dermablast spray (blue label)

I'm not fond of giving medical advice so this is just an example of what I did when I had some very severe nicks and irritation from shaving.
I poured hydrogen peroxide on a tissue and dabbed the worst cut. (Nasty green foam appeared but painless)

No pain but it foamed up another. I repeated the process until it did not foam.
Did this to kill bacteria on all the areas even stood in shower and drenched the spots in hard to reach thigh to torso.
Then I applied antibiotic ointment.
Stopped wearing underpants for some days.
Sat on layers of disposable bedpads and tucked a couple loosely between legs changing out throughout the nights for some nights.

I suggest you use a barrier cream like destination a thick paste to protect skin found in baby care aisle once the infected areas are healed.

Anyway that worked for me and I use more caution with better razors now.

my homecare nurses use a cream by coloplast called Triad. It is a hydrophilic wound dressing. It will be a barrier, and treatment made especially for incontinent persons. It should be available at a local home health store, or online. good luck!!

I like Dr. Mercola's Organic Diaper Rash cream. It's concentrated & lasts a long time. I'm allergic to Desitin.

Even as a light wetter, I suffered with a persistent rash from both wetness of ordinary pants, trousers and disposable pads in contact with my sensitive skin and needed a steroid cream initially to heal it . I put it down to the chemicals in the absorbent padding. I haven’t had that issue since wearing terry cloth except for perspiration or light red marks caused by the plastic pants sometimes but you get used to it and they are unfortunately necessary with cloth .Nappy cream helps protect against that . Cloth is softer with no rough edges If you do decide to go that route, a larger size plastic pants than your regular measurement is much more comfortable .Make sure you clean cloth diapers in non bio wash powder. Having said all that , I sometimes still have trouble getting to sleep in a diaper at first but it;s better than wet pajamas and bedsheets . Wearing loose clothing can help .
