Threaded Armor

Has anybody tried these pull on cloth underpants?

I'm trying to look into options, well got thinking about it today - instead of going for Northshore GoSupreme disposables - but trying a cloth alternative I could wash and dry while giving myself the peace and dignity of wearing cloth underwear again.

I guess this stems to not wanting to wear a disposable product due to PTSD and memories - but figured it could be an option for myself if other people would recommend them.

I'm not sure in terms of absorbency how well these products are - I don't want to have to wear a vinyl or protective pant over the briefs on a regular basis - so if that is the case; I will just look into more comfortable disposable products like the GoSupremes and Tranquility ATN which I've worn in the past.

Threaded Armor products I know doing some personal research on are extremely expensive for just one pant - so cost is kind of a contributing factor at this time. Maybe it will be something I will pursue down the road if there are other recommendations.

Thank you for your time in reading this - hoping someone can offer some advise on cloth based alternatives.

I bought a pair of the snap-on ones. I was looking to be more environmentally friendly and hoping the upfront cost would be worth it in the long run.

I bought 1 brief and an extra insert to be able to change along with 2 soaker bombs. They are more comfortable than NorthShore MegaMax, but only hold as much as a pull-up. I bought them for the times I'll be away from home for a while.

Overall, I'm not sure if they're worth the extra cost for myself. If they will be replacing several pull-up changes a day, they might be. And they're keeping waste out of landfills.

A side note - the waistband on mine separated from the brief the second time I pulled them on and it was a hassle to get it fixed. I had to send pictures in of the tear and then send them back.

I recently bought the Threaded Armor regular pull-up diaper. I'm a heavy wetter through the nighttime, and normally use Northshore Megamax with a booster pad. Even with the Megamax, I oftentimes leak before morning. I've had concerns about the possibility of future supply chain issues causing delivery problems with disposables, and decided I would give the cloth diapers a try. Also, with the cost of disposables, and inflation concerns, I wanted to try and save money by using cloth.

One thing I like about the Threaded Armor pull-up is that the insert pads dry quickly after washing. Also, the number of insert pads can be adjusted based on the situation--during the day only 1 or 2 may be sufficient, depending on the level of incontinence, and at night the number increased to get through the night.

Although the pull-up has a waterproof shell, I still have to use plastic pants, since I have experienced leakage issues. Also, I would prefer the insert pads were more absorbent, since, in my situation with heavy wetting at nighttime, I need to use several of their most absorbent insert pads to get through the night, and it becomes very bulky.

All in all, I like the pull-up. For me, the fit is excellent. During the daytime I use Depend underwear, but I'm sure the cloth pull-up would be good also.

I have looked into these as they are visually appealing. I like the idea of the pocket system as they dry easier. I watched a review video on them by real world incontinence in you tube and they go in depth about testing them. I won't buy though as they are expensive.

Over the course of the night, urine always made its way out of the diaper. I had to sleep on a plastic pad. Washing and drying them was an ordeal as well.

Thank you for your insight @JustAGuy. I figured that was the case. I just wanted an opinion of another who may have had experiences with Threaded Armor products and wanted to see if they were comparable to other cloth products.

Unfortunately, it seems to be the case that disposable products are the way to go in that regard. I have used what is called a "gaurd" - and may look into larger ones of those to put in white underwear for nightime. Either way, nighttime continence issues suck all around.

I have two pair of this diaper and they do hold alot of liquid but they are far from waterproof. They are fine with a plastic pant over them. Yes, very expensive.

Thanks Chuck;

If they are far from waterproof; I will probably not be pursuing them. I really don't want to have to deal with diaper covers - and after thinking about it - the guards that can go in underwear that are larger would be more comfortable and fitting than having to wear a thick brief with a waterproof cover over it.

Thank you for your response - cost wise; it is not pheasable as well.

I have a pair of SnapEZ, Threaded Armor (pretty much the same as EcoAble) and Dependeco (as heavy-duty as it gets).

They all can soak up a lot at first, but they ALL wick the moisture outside of the diaper eventually. There are a lot of hours in a night.

I can handle a wet diaper, but wearing ten pounds of cloth diapers and booster pads, only to end up with moisture soaking up my back? It’s a no for me.

And by the way, I really tried to make them work. (Because they cost a fortune) I looked up how to wash them, how to break them in, etc. Etc. They never got me through the night without a wet shirt, pajama bottoms, and sheets.

Hey @JustAGuy:

Thanks for your thoughts. I am willing to try Threaded Armor products anyway - and am even debating and thinking about if I can use a disposable full cut pad inside the underwear to hide so that it still looks like I am wearing a cloth based underpant.

As a person who deals with chronic pain - I have used disposable briefs/protection willingfully and unwillingfully for more than two years as a constant trigger but have used a cloth "training pant" of sorts with no success - and suffered from the moisture issue that you face. However, the cloth product I've used I would never wear as protection for an everyday wear and is only something I have tried recently at night so that I do not have the pressure on my naval which worsens the spasms and the pain.

I like the looks of the threaded Armor product as they look adult like - and can be easily passed as underwear to anyone who notices an underwear line above shorts or jeans. I've worn cloth underwear over disposables in the past - but with trying to build up relationships with family and getting out more socially - I'm trying to tackle incontinence/severe bladder issues in a mature manner with family without being overly humiliated. I want them to know that through all of this - I can wear diapers regardless of who i am and be okay.

I wish more people understood the humility issues that people like myself in there 20s face when dealing with continence issues and mental health issues. As someone who is transitioning to more transitional housing due to mental illness and health issues; with peer support for setting daily goals for chores and money management; hygeine wise I've always been able to take care of myself - even in the hospital.

Sometimes emotionally we cannot do this alone; and I am thankful that I am apart of this community in that sense and can only hope that my family will one day understand the embarrassment and complexities of my situation and help me be more independent but also giving me the proper tools for bring independent.

I wouldn't wish bladder problems on anyone, not even my worst enemy. I don't think people or society understand what it is like to live with PTSD and continence issues - I guess the term that comes to mind is "Supported Dignity".

I'm hoping to get better protection - I pray for it. But I am not less because of it. Regardless of what I wear, the end goal has always been the same the past few years.

Pain Free.

I’ll say this, they are comfy as hell. So I hope they work for you.

Pro tip: cloth diapers work best after like the fifth wash. And never use fabric softener!

Thanks man;

I am actually looking into disposable inserts to put inside the Threaded Armor Cloth Briefs so that I have the convenience of being able to change in a stall and not have to worry about having to wear disposables - I am hoping that it will calm my bladder spasms so that I can start to live a pain free life. The waistband looks like actual underwear briefs - so it would be discreet around others.
