Procedures

I have neurogenic bladder, and my bladder is all over. But one procedure I need is dilation, yes dilation, yes I'm incontinent, but also have retention, and my urethral canal becomes to tight to get the catheter in, my PCP then inserts a Foley and we make a appointment to see my Urologist, he dilates me and I'm better for a while.

I had bladder-sphincter dyssynergia (the external sphincter would clamp shut when my bladder tried to drain.) Botox shots gave me relief, but only temporarily. A bladder sphincterotomy, in which the urologist surgically destroyed the sphincter, finally brought relief, at the cost of permanent incontinence. I still get bladder spasms, which can be painful enough to disturb my sleep, but nothing like the pain I had before the surgery.
