So today I saw my wound care nurse and had a great conversation about recovery and what I should do next. There was a lot of talk about seeing gastroenterology. I ended up going to their office but I was told that I already have an appointment on December 12. I told the receptionist that said appointment was already scheduled before this surgery was even talked about and was asked what else I want them to do because I already have an appointment. I mentioned that I should have been set up with a doctor after surgery but was never called to schedule. I told receptionist that the appointment in December is not a replacement for follow up after surgery but I was not going to argue with her more as I had things to do today.
I am going to call the director of operations on Monday and ask him what he suggested I do moving forward because I am done with that hospitals gastroenterology department.
