So I use the Pill Pack pharmacy, if you watch TV in the states you've probably seen their ads (coincidentally now owned by Amazon). I love the convenience of having my medications, vitamins and OTC drugs.
They have their issues though. My last shipment omitted a medication to slow my heart rate and keep it in rhythm, not a good one to drop. Then they almost did the same with the blood thinner I take, again not a good one to mess up, but I caught that one.
So the doctors have been messing with my diuretic and have me on a high dose, I believe this is causing severe constipation as I referenced in a previous post. So I am trying to manage it with OTC drugs. I take 2 different laxatives and have settled on 3 stool softener pills twice a day. I called Pill Pack to have them update my next shipment.
The first guy I spoke with was very nice and took care of it efficiently, great I can move on to the next thing on my agenda. Well Pill Pack calls back a couple of hours later and tells me that "this exceeds the recommended dosage". Will I have constipation that exceeds the recommendation too. I finally speak to a nice pharmacist that insists that this is policy and he won't budge, but suggests that he can give it to me in a bottle, instead of the packs and I can take whatever I want then! I thanked him and hung up.
The next day my doctor calls me at work because Pill Pack requested permission to up the OTC stool softener. So I'm discussing my constipation at work while sitting in the cubicle farm.
I stay with Pill Pack because it really is much easier than spending a couple of hours on Sunday morning doing it for myself.
The system really gets me down some times.
