Night and now day wetting

Have been night bed wetting almost my whole life. When I take daytime naps, usually 1-2 hours, I sometimes wake up with my pants slightly damp. Hope i don't need to start wearing 24/7. Bad enough at night.

I'm with you on that. I went from totally dry and normal six months ago to wearing heavy pads at all times now. Not the best experience of my life. Seen many doctors, been through many tests but so far nothing to help. Good luck to you in maintaining the continence you have.

Are you a very deep sleeper? Some people sleep through the signal/urge to go if they don't have normal REM cycles and go right to deep sleep. There is therapy to retrain your sleep patterns if that's the issue. Something to check with doctors who mostly use sleep studies to look for sleep apnea and may not look for this cycle issue.

Very deep and sound sleeper. Have had numerous tests done, only to have all tests come back normal. Doctors have left it up to me on how to handle my bedwetting.

There are underwear alarms to help wake you up and retrain your brain to have more normal sleep patterns. Sometimes at beginning, you will need a family member to sleep nearby to hear alarm and wake you up if you sleep through it.

The more accidents you have triggering the alarm, the quicker the retraining works. There are coaches to help you through this process as well because it can be a very frustrating process that you'll want to quit and the coaches help you adjust and stay motivated. You can google enuresis sleep coach or similar to find some.

I'd discuss with your doctor after you've done some research but before committing to the alarm and/or coach to make sure this is ok next step for you. On average it takes 6 to 9 months to work if only having events about once or twice a week.

Artie i nap in the day but find in a recliner chair or a not flat on a bed position i wake before i wet. Sometimes the bladder bursts before i waddle to the bathroom clutching myself but somehow not lying flat is key

I also nap in a recliner. I have napped in bed only a handful of times and wet the bed like I do at night. In a recliner, my wetting is very minimal, just damp.

Sounds similar to me. My doctor diagnosed the reason behind my bedwetting but seamed unconcerned as to how I would manage it. Than God for the continence nurses.

About the same with me, from first signs of incontinence to needing pads or nappies all the time was about 6 o 7 months.

Doctor suggested using an alarm, but insurance wouldn't cover the cost, well over$200.00. Also said about 50% success rate. Numerous enuresis companies are well over $2000.00 to help stop wetting the bed, beyond my budget, with no guarantee. My doctor left it up to me on how to deal with it, so I now use cloth diapers and plastic pants every night. It sucks, but no more soaked sheets.

Artie,
Where is a good place for the cloth diapers?
Would be nice to try something different and cotton is always good.

I get mine from. Fetware.com I use the overnight pull-on type. I bought mine over 3 years ago, and they are still in great shape. I also get my plastic pants from Fetware. Good prices and fast service.

FYI. Cloth diapers, depending on size, could easily be $40.00 and up each. BUT remember, much cheaper in the long run. I bought 6. I usually have 3 to be washed and wearing one, and two clean ones. I wash 3 at a time, then line dry for about 2 days, then a quick dryer run to soften them. DO NOT USE DRYER SHEETS EVER!. Will ruin the absorption effectiveness
