Just got outta work from my new job! Been there for two weeks now; didnt want to say anything till now. I get paid tomorrow - so im excited about that.

So remember that grocery store my Dad and step mother threatened to take me to? Yup. Im working in the Delicatessen! 😎

Its actually not a bad gig at all, i still have the bathroom access - its not overly exhausting on my physical and mental health and the people are absolutely amazing. I work around 6 hours, its not a full shift - but again with my health issues, im thankful for the hours given my situation.

Ive been walking to and from work because of how close it is; so ive been getting my steps in and ive seen some progress in terms of weight loss.

Anyway, Unfortunately i just wanted to drop in and share the good news. The bad news is i have an update from the Autism Center and from what i understand there doing new assesements starting in 2023, so im a little concerned about that. But im going to be trying to find an assesment and resources before then. We will see.

Anyway, take care guys and gals.

Blessings,
HC

Honeeecombs -- Is that a new picture? I like it! It fits the topic. Congratulations on your new job! It sounds ideal. Probably gets your mind off of your condition(s). Great that you have bathroom access!! That must be comforting!!! Yeah, six hours is good. How many days a week do you work? Good that you're losing some weight. So you have to wait until next year for your assessment at the Autism Center? Boo! Yeah, I would try somewhere else for sure!!

CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm sure will get satisfaction from service work because you are always trying to be kind and helpful to others on the forum. So fortunate the crew are nice folk!!

@Honeeecombs You might check with a university near you that has a graduate psychology program. Most programs run a clinic and do evaluations and therapy on a sliding rate for services. Evaluations are usually conducted by graduate students under PHd supervision.

@Maymay941: Thanks So much!! That's so kind, you are a staple here and support a ton of people. I don't think I would be on this earth today physically if it wasn't for the NAFC. I mean that. ❤

@Alh63: I didn't even think about that!! We have several huge universities, and I'll have to do some research into them to see what services they offer. Thank you for providing light during this dark tunnel.

Blessings,
HC

Hi @Honeeecombs, wonderful news and congratulations on your new job!! It sounds like the people there are very accommodating re your physical issues and bathroom access and you can't ask for better than that!!
As an added bonus it's wonderful you can walk to and from work. I mean you have seen the gas prices lately!! There is absolutely no call for such high prices. But you are so lucky you don't have to be dependent on driving! Besides that walking is good for you and you will feel better by doing it.
So here's to the best for you and with your job you have something to look forward to every day!!! And working in the deli may give you some ideas for the community cookbook!!

Congratulations on your new job. Very exciting. It is also very impressive that you are losing weight. If I was working in a deli department I think I would be gaining weight! What a great way to start the new year!!!

@Honeeecombs Congratulations on your new job and all the benefits that seem to come with it. Encouraging for sure.

I am so very pleased for you!!! The guys and gals at my deli are really awesome patient folks. Coworkers become like a second family and you will be a wonderful addition I am betting. We can always use more kind people in this world we all live in and you have always sounded to me like one of the best of the best. All the best to you!!!

It sounds very dramatic but the 24 hour unconditional support dragged me hand over hand out of the deepest well more than paid therapy per example, more than the Christian church closest thing in my life experience might be Tibetan Buddhism. so Honneecombs and Snow let's all just hang in there together on the lip of the well or dancing in the sunlight grass surround.

@Maymay941 Well spoken, dear. I wish someone gère was wealthy and willing to help us all get together in-person!!!!!!!! I would be there in a heartbeat!!!!!!!!
