The 28th is my only scheduled appointment left this year so far. I have a lot to get done and one thing that I feel I need to get back to is physical therapy. Even though there has not been a big improvement with therapy there are a few small things that come out of it.

The first is that every time I go to PT my therapist does a massage on my puborectalis muscle as well as a belly massage. I have talked to PT about the fact that my bowels empty about an hour after seeing her.

Now that it has been a month since my last PT my bowels are a mess.

I am going to talk to my doctor Monday when I go about getting back to PT.

Massage of any kind is indeed healing. After my hip replacement in 2000, my daughter stopped by my home after she got off work and massaged my feet and legs. I'm certain that act of love by touching contributed to my early healing. I once wrote an article for a local newspaper about an orthopedic surgeon who treated a lot of skiing injuries, broken bones! He found that by touching the patient's arm or leg for a few minutes before setting the bone often replaced the need for anesthetic.
