Is it time?

I keep thinking that someday I can say I'm done needing diapers. That all of a sudden I will be dry. I have tried to get the nerve to go unprotected, but I get nervous and diaper up...sometimes it wasn't necessary. It's been over 2 years since my prostatectomy/diverticulotomy, and now heart issues. Can age be a determining factor for permanent incontinence after a prostatectomy and heart disease? I will be 72 in a few weeks. Is it time for me to accept my new normal and the need for diapers permanently?

I am not sure what to say I myself require diapers 24/7 I suppose it depends on your level of incontinence

I agree sometimes think during the day don,t need them.I tried the other day and before I could make it wet my pants so was reminded why I wear diapers.Ha

I have tried lighter protection a few times, but usually regretted it later in the day when a bladder spasms comes out of nowhere. Maybe you could try something lighter and see how it goes before stopping? Phil

Since my prostatectomy 4 years ago, I've slowly lost more continence and am padded full time. Increasing loss of continence can happen with age but prostate surgery might accelerate this process as I am 64.
