Incontinence and Sleepwalking

Has anyone dealt with incontinence and sleepwalking? A counselor at the house I live in says I was sleepwalking and tried to leave the house. While guiding me back to bed she noticed my pajama pants were wet and bed was too as was the floor in my room so she woke me up to change my clothes and bed and clean the floor (I have no memory of any of this). Has anyone dealt with these issues? Advice?

Dealing with daytime and nighttime incontinence mostly tied into ptsd- this sleepwalking thing is really new so I wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience (my Dr said it might just be additional stress) Sorry if I seemed off. You said my IP is the same as some else…? Not super techy- does that mean I’ve been hacked or did something wrong?

No, not at all. You said you live in a house with a counseler so it's possible someone else within the same house if you are using a public wifi could have made an account. Just seems highly unlikely or probable (especially since its within the same year) - but i've seen weirder coincidences. For example, we had a user on here claiming to be a 15 year old girl who ended up being a "Midwest Guy".

This forum by all means deserves more moderation - but we overall have a good sense of community. If you are experiencing daytime and nightime bladder control issues, my sympathies go out to you.

I know there are different levels of sleepwalking, each very different. I have a acquaintance that after after a long day of motorcycling, then a few beers around the camp fire would stand in the corner of his tent and take a pee, then lay back down and have no memory of it the next morning but the smell….
My Father-in-Law is a whole different level! He will get up middle of the night, head downstairs to the kitchen and help himself to whatever is convenient, including scooping ice cream out with Doritos and other similar delicacies! The only way to determine what he was up to was the leftovers including Nacho Cheese Doritos chunks in the Cherry Garcia! Nobody knew about it until he enlisted for Vietnam and during boot camp he was caught a number of times walking around in his skivvies with some treat purloined from the commissary! Needless to say, once they determined he wasn’t faking he was sent home on a medical discharge
So apparently behavior while sleepwalking is as varied as while awake!

I have never simultaneously been a bed wetter and a sleepwalker, not even when I take Ambien or Ativan/Xanax. @Giantsrule8719 If you’re taking Ambien or Ativan/Xanax, either could be making you sleepwalk. I suggest you have a sleep test and/or get off your sleeping meds.

Odd this comes up, I kind of thought I was alone. It is rare, but three times my wife has awakened me while I was sleepwalking. Each time I was dreaming of standing at the toilet doing my business. When she woke me, I only then realized I was just peeing in the bedroom on the floor. I cleaned it up and went back to bed thinking, how the hell did that happen. I never really gave it more thought, just figured it was due to me being exhausted and trying to deal with incontinence and my subconscious still trying to hold on to the days before it. One of the times was super embarrassing as we were staying at a friends house overnight and the commotion woke everyone. Try explaining why you are cleaning up pee in the corner of the bedroom!

@wetdad Sleepwalking can be very serious, as it is for comedian Mike Birbiglia. He has a book out called, “Sleep Walk With Me.” One time he was staying in a hotel and sleepwalked straight out the second floor window. When you sleepwalk, you’re barely under the surface layer of sleep. It can be really important to take medications or just a CPAP to make sure you’re hitting the deeper layers of sleep. And try not to travel without your sleeping partner to keep an eye on you.

@snow: I thought the IP address correct me if I'm wrong is the unique network fingerprint for the device or network you are on? Maybe it run's different on the NAFC - I don't know.

An IP address is just like your home address unless you are running a VPN or Virtual Private Network. So as it has been for years, with certain software you can track an IP address directly to the home address. They should name it Stalkerware as this what it is used for. This is why if you type in find “Whole Foods” near me into your browser, or even check the weather on your phone, iPad or PC it knows exactly where you are….
This tracing was initially illegal until the Government figured out how beneficial it could be to have access to all of our personal lives for themselves to manipulate as they choose. This also illustrates why Election Polling/ Predictions are so far off & getting even more useless! The High Court rulings back in the late 90’s stated that you no longer have any “EXPECTATIONS” of physical privacy outside of your private domicile. Later the Internet & your Cell Phone (It’s just a powerful Walkie Talkie!) was included as “Outside your Domicile”.
This is why despite my not using any social media other than certain forums: Cars, off road, guns, heath, every time I purchase something online, it pops up on my Wife’s Facebook! They: Meta, FB, Google, Amazon etc. pay our ISP’s (Internet Service Providers) for every click, then sell all of our data to thousands of companies and marketing groups including our State & Federal Governments….
Too bad, I’m just not too interesting! 99% of what I’m working on or building these days really exists in this boring old world of ours! I’m putting in a VPN on Monday as I’m launching a couple of Internet based companies this year. This essentially scrambles your IP address through a group of anonymous routers to keep it super simple, you regain some semblance of privacy as the IP address on the other end is very hard, if not impossible to trace back to its origin!

@Sprung87 I agree; it’s StalkerWare. Nobody should be able to see my IP address unless I’ve committed a crime and there’s a warrant for it. Nobody on the forum should be spying on anyone else’s IP address just because they’re on the forum. This is a place where we come for anonymity, not to be spied on.

As someone who's been a victim of stalking multiple times; ive found it hard to trust newcomers - maybe that's my fault.

However, a majority of the stalking I endured happened in the Midwest so it just brings up bad memories of being used and victimized.

What sucks is you never truly feel safe from them once they abuse you in that nature - so I protect myself from anyone that's new and comes across the wrong way and may not be using the board for its intended purpose.

I wish more people were honest in that aspect. The worst thing you want to feel is to be in a place that's a safe haven for those struggling with bladder and bowel issues and then have people who come to exploit those who have those issues.

I completely agree with you Snow! My business is MY business, PERIOD!
I’ve had a couple of unique & new potentially revolutionary in a business start up context stolen simply due to not thinking /Lazy / too much pain to do the stairs, up to my secure PC’s instead using my iPads or phone to communicate…..
Trust me when I say I don’t believe in coincidence when it comes to business or $$$. Hell after my 1997 accident where I fell through the 2nd+ Story rotted floor, into the basement unwittingly pulling a bunch of crap down on top of me. Once again a was put into a light coma as they had to do a lot of painful surgery on me very quickly so they kept me knocked out for 4 days while they worked to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
I had built a successful chain of 33 Cutting Edge furniture stores in the Midwest, with no help from 2 lazy partners. Accountant 8% ownership, operations partner started at 10% and I gifted him an additional 30% over 3 years. I had been communicating with bankers and manufacturers around the globe to expand nationally with backing & logistics for 300 more stores over the next 2 years.
When I finally awoke my Surgeon / Friend told me not to worry about work, my accountant had brought in some documents for him to sign while I was incapacitated, to fund a manager etc. to cover things while I recuperated. Standard boilerplate contract….
Once home I couldn’t reach either partner, nor log on to the company server & my company phone was turned off??? As it turned out my GOOD FRIENDS since High School that I made partners, INSTEAD of employees! had sold themselves MY COMPANY!!!
They had been secretly reading all of my communication with the banks & manufacturers & thought they could do it better by themselves! Found a FRIENDLY Chicago Judge, showed him the Dr. signed documents stating I was incapacitated (without the for a week or so sentence) who signed over my company to these idiots for $1, yes ONE DOLLAR!The accountant had done some spreadsheet magic! After 4 years of working nights & weekends while juggling my real job to build this unique & very cool company from scratch after finding it impossible to find cool furniture for a loft I just bought! With all the loft construction in Chicago and other cities it was a no brainer! License great designers, and design my own with the help of countless artists! Display up & coming artist in all my stores. Have it built and sell unique stuff available in only my stores!
ONE DOLLAR!
The idiots were too dumb to realize that the bankers were my clients, and I was putting together an IPO for the manufacturers! 2 phone calls and I killed the company….Both the bankers & manufacturers wanted nothing to do with their kind.I felt bad for the employees, but many quit as soon as they found I was out. Eventually I collected Some of my money,I think my lawyer got more than me, but the idiots lost everything….
By no means a win for anyone, a learning experience? Everyone involved!
I now trust only one human and that is my AMAZING Wife!
Ive also realized I can talk to my dog about anything, I get his undivided attention right up til I give him that treat!
