Embarrassment avoided with plastic pants.

I have mentioned before that I often wear plastic pants over my daytime disposable diapers.. Today was another example of why that's a good idea!

I had an extensive dental procedure scheduled for today, so of course I wore my standard ConfiDry 24/7 diaper to the appointment. I also wore a pair of snug fitting plastic pants over it. The procedure lasted just over an hour an a half, so naturally, my urge incontinence had me wetting my diaper before it was done. We all know that you're reclined in the chair at the dentist, so who knows which way the urine will flow. (Depending on how you "equipment" is pointed.) Sure enough, after I left the dentist office and got home, I found the plastic pants had saved me from wet pants and a wet spot on the dentist's chair. My diaper had leaked at the leg opening, and the plastic pants had provided an adequate barrier. Lesson learned!

I have terrycloth lined plastic pants that I use at times over my diaper when I want some extra protection.

@MikeD9876 They can be a life saver sometimes eh. I prefer to wear them for that added peace of mind.

I have tried 2 pairs of terry lined plastic pants and found the plastic goes hard and cracks rendering them useless unless I put another pair over the top.

My dentist is very good about letting me get up during any procedure to use the restroom. I told him I have OAB and it just can’t be helped. Any dentist should understand our issues.

For those of you who have tried plastic pants, I would like the names of the brands and styles you have liked. Thanks.

Since I started using diapers a few years ago, I've tried several different brands of plastic pants. I now use only one brand - KINS Adult Vinyl Pull-On Plastic Pants, model # 20300V. The big difference for me is the elastic bands at the waist and legs. I have found other brands have a different kind of elastic, which tends to cut into my legs, leave red marks, and irritates my skin. I've also had other brands split at the side seams, or rip at the elastic area. None of these issues with the Kins plastic pants. I have a couple photos of them on my profile page. They also carry the terry lined plastic pants.

You can find them at BabyKins.com. I understand that the company originally started with a line of baby apparel, and branched out to the adult market when they saw the need.

@boasammy
I like the Gary Wear Active PUL (Poly Urethane Laminate) pants for daytime wear as they are fairly trim and cool to wear. I buy them at Northshore Care Supply.

For nighttime I like the Leakmaster brand PUL pants which I buy at Adult Cloth Diaper Company. They are quite a bit fuller cut than the Gary Wear pants and give greater coverage for wearing to bed. Both brands are very high quality and seem to last forever even with repeated washing and drying.

@boasammy Ebay sell Haian brand and they are really cheap and good quality. A little on the small side though so size up with them. Drylife are superb. Leakmaster from USA are thick like the old Comco used to be and last a long time. And although it is a fetish site, Fetware are good too. Arizona health care make some cheaper ones too as well as Gary and Suprima probably being the best.

@laalaauk
If you are asking about the PUL pants I mentioned above I only wash them after several (3-4?)days of wear. If I do have a very small leak get on them I will sometimes just use a damp cloth and wipe them out. However if it's a larger leak, or if urine gets on the leg elastics, I will not use them until I can wash them properly.

as others have said, I will just echo. I order from babykins.com (adult line). Just about all I have tried work. I have had good luck with the taffeta, vinyl, and rubber pants. I have also tried the Gary pants and they are ok. I have had issues with them wicking though. I find the cloth gathers at the waist and legs of all pants wick too. The encased pants where the rubber bands are covered keep that from occurring, but also dig into my hips and legs badly. I have yet to find the perfect setup.

There are pants with lining that help but they also seem to wick more quickly any external leaks of the disposable. Most days I am working 10-12 hours at work with little chance of a change due to the bathroom conditions. There is a very small waste basket in the men's room and no privacy as it is high traffic. I have found the general set up that works best for me is my diaper with a booster, firm control panties, then I have a thin booster from babykins and then the plastic pants. This is covered with a onesie that prevent the odd ride up issues. The thin booster captures any wetness that gets out of the legs/waist line. The control panties give some form and support. Leonsia makes a pair that is not a thong, but has a support line built in that is similar. This helps avoid the flat diaper butt and creates a bit of a crease. I try to not obsess with my image, but I still worry as I feel the weight of the afternoon weighing on me.

There is no good answer I have found. More over - what works for one does not for another. With time and practice you will find something that works for you. I wish you luck and speed to that point and we are all here to share ideas.
