Diaper leaks - different positions

So I had another leak out the back of my diaper. I noticed that it happens when I’m sitting cross legged and or sitting on a hard surface. I wasn’t wearing pul pants. Just a pair of swimming trunks. I’m going to have to do a wash of pul pants and the trunks. But that’s ok because I can just wash them out in the tub. Anyone else notice leaks in certain situations?

Also an added note - I’m transgender and have female anatomy. Which may play a part.

Yesterday I was gaming after having a bigger bladder leak, went and did my business then sat back down and bam! the pullup leaked. First time that has happened from sitting down and not sure why.

Hi @justej and @ICGamer, I think this is called "Squeeze out," where the pressure from where you're sitting causes excess urine to squeeze out right beyond the pad zone and it loses absorbency. Your bottom meets a hard surface like a hard chair and before you know it, you've got "squeeze out!"
As we all know diapers and pull ups can't hold an unlimited amount and it gets to the point where something's gotta give!!! And we all know what it is that's going to give!!

So I’m at my pain doctor and thought I had to do a pee test (which if you have a paralyzed neurogenic bladder is is a nightmare) but I didn’t. I Drank a bunch and of course had an accident before I even got there. I was in my wheelchair and had no problems. I’m guessing cause I was on a soft surface.

Ok it’s got to be the surface. I was sitting on the floor and had a leak so bad it leaked through my pul pants and shorts. Sigh.

@justej

Hard surfaces are always an issue for me for both my incontinence issues.

I was sitting on my bar stool on my laptop. Well, my bum decided to go to sleep and I never felt anything. My Physical therapist knows this happens and is not okay with it (Hence why she wants me to see a neurologist) Nothing like being physically in the bathroom and not being able to stop going.

Ok upon further testing I just had a betterdry leak while sitting on the bed. So there goes my theory.

Conclusion of the study: always wear pul pants

@justej

❓ Do you find Magamax are better for Bowel issues?
I have had a few leaks into my pul pants.

It's freaks me out and keeps me from going out and doing things.

I switched to wearing betterdrys during the day when I go out places I don't know well or I will be out long. The few times I have had issues out have not been major accidents but they are getting worse.

I got a sample of the MegaMax and they worked well but never had a bowel issues while wearing one.

Still think I am going to order some and see what I find out.

I learned early on that when I sleep if my penis isn't pointing down I will leak out the front of my brief every single time no matter the position I sleep in. Keep it pointed down and I never leak no matter the position.

definately sitting is the worst for me and for what I have been using (assurance underwear for men). I dont do a lot of sitting most days so its not an issue, Im up and moving all day until I go to bed most days. I had to pick up someone I know that got stranded 2 hours away last week. I carried extra with me but this was in the middle of the night and I didnt see anyplace open to change. I left my friend at a hotel not real far from where he was stranded and the assurance pull up held up until about 30 minutes from home. I was glad I didnt get pulled over by police or have a flat tire or something since it would have been imposible to hide the leak. I need to stock up on better supplies for this reason I supose, plus holiday season coming on.

When I'm going to be out for a while I will put on 2 pullups so I can just rip the inner one off and not have to get undressed.

I have used the two pull-up method. You can also use a guard in the pull-up. Once the guard is soaked it can be easily removed and discarded.

@ThatFLGuy sorry I’m just now seeing your post. I have not had any leaks with bowel stuff and the MegaMax. The only leaks I’ve had are Urine. I haven’t been able to pinpoint a reason, but overall I have had much less leaks with the MegaMax than any other diaper.
