- This is what I have put together and review periodically to remind myself as my memory is fading and I sometimes do not get the sequences correct leading to frustration and accidents.
Evening diaper change
- Lay out changing pad from the nightstand
- Put powder on the nightstand and open cap
- Take 2 wipes out of the nightstand and put on top of powder cap; close wipe pack
- Pull diaper rash ointment out of nightstand and open if needed
- Go into bathroom and take off clothes down to the diaper / plastic panty
- Get a 2X large plastic panty out of second left drawer
- Get a pair of 3-point Snap-Eze fastener from top drawer sink vanity
- Get a XL contour diaper from the top shelf of the closet stand
- Get 3 flat diapers from the second shelf of the stand
- Get a XL booster pad from the third shelf of the stand
- Take diapers, panty and fastener into the bedroom and lay next to the changing pad
- Unfold the 1st flat diaper on the far half of the changing pad in a square
- Fold the flat diaper in a slight “A” shape wider at the back
- Fold the 2 flat diapers in a kite fold with the booster pad in the middle on top of the folded flat diapers
- Lay down on the top half of the changing pad so leaks from the wet diaper do not soak the new one
- Pull the plastic panty down just enough to get the Sanp-Eze fastener off
- Leaving the wet diaper in the plastic panty, slip off the diaper and panty together and place on the nightstand (Unfasten the top diaper tabs if a disposable)
- Clean the wet / messy areas with wipes then put the used wipes on top of the removed wet diaper / panty on the nightstand
- Lift up from pad and carefully pull the made-up diaper up under rear to the small of the back
- Spread legs and apply diaper rash ointment where needed
- Powder over the diaper area and wherever the plastic panty touches the skin
- Pull the front of the diaper up between the legs to just above the belly button
- Attach the left-hand Snap-Eaze claw to the left diaper wing and stretch towards the front middle
- Attach the right-hand Snap-Eaze claw to the right diaper wing and stretch towards the middle
- Pull the middle Snap-Eaze claw to the middle of the diaper a couple inches down from the top
- Adjust diaper for best fit as needed
- Pull on the 2X large plastic panty making sure it covers the entire diaper in the back
- Unless wetted or soiled during the change, fold up and put the changing pad back in the nightstand
- Close the top on the powder and put it away in the nightstand
- Close the top and put the diaper rash ointment in the nightstand
- Take the wet diaper and plastic panty into the bathroom
- Put the wet cloth diaper in the bathtub and run hot water to rinse; let it drain there overnight
- If a disposable, fold and put in the diaper pail
- Rinse the plastic panty and hang it up to dry
- Throw the used wipes away in the diaper pail
- Take night-time pills
- Apply Neosporin, eye drops, Benadryl etc. as needed
- Brush teeth
- Wash face
Morning diaper change - cloth
- Lay out changing pad from the nightstand
- Put powder on the nightstand and open cap
- Pull diaper rash ointment out of nightstand and open if needed
- Go into bathroom and carefully pull down the plastic panty only to knees in case of drips
- Remove Snap-Eaze fastener and put into the tub to rinse
- Take off the wet diaper and put it into the tub; if a disposable un-tape, fold up with any booster pads and put it in the diaper pail
- Step out of the plastic panty and rinse with the shower head then hang on the rack
- Rinse the wet cloth diaper (and previous day’s already rinsed diaper) in the tub with the shower head
- Use the toilet
- Shower
- Wring out the rinsed diapers and hang on the tub rack
- Take a large cloth diaper, a medium cloth booster, a large plastic panty and Snap-Eaze fastener into the bedroom and lay next to the changing pad
- Unfold the diaper in the middle of the changing pad
- Add a booster pad pinning it to the diaper at the front to avoid it moving out of position during the day
- Lay down on the diaper
- Spread legs and apply diaper rash ointment where needed
- Powder over the diaper area especially where the plastic panty seals to the legs
- Pull the front of the diaper up between the legs
- Attach the left-hand Snap-Eaze claw to the left diaper wing and stretch towards the front middle
- Attach the right-hand Snap-Eaze claw to the right diaper wing and stretch towards the middle
- Stretch and attach the center Snap-Eaze claw to the lower front middle of the diaper
- Adjust diaper for best fit and reset the Snap-Eze as needed
- Pull on the large plastic panty making sure it covers the entire diaper in the back
- Unless wet, fold up and put the changing pad back in the nightstand
- Close the top and put the powder in the nightstand
- Close the top and put the diaper rash ointment in the nightstand
- Go to the bathroom to apply Neosporin, eye drops, Benadryl etc. as needed
- Brush teeth
- Take morning pills
- Get dressed
Morning diaper change - disposable
- Go into bathroom and carefully pull down the plastic panty only to knees in case of drips
- Remove tape or Snap-Eaze fastener and put into the tub to rinse if in a cloth diaper
- Take off the wet diaper and put it into the tub if cloth; if a disposable un-tape, fold up with any booster pads and put it in the diaper pail
- Step out of the plastic panty and rinse with the shower head then hang on the tub rack
- Rinse the wet cloth diaper (and previous day’s already rinsed diaper) in the tub with the shower head
- Use the toilet
- Shower and wring out the rinsed diapers and panty’s then hang them on the tub rack if previously in a cloth diaper
- Dry off
- Take a X large disposable diaper, a large plastic panty on the counter next to the toilet
- Sit on the toilet seat, unfold the diaper and pull it under you until it reaches the small of the back
- Pull the front of the diaper up past the knees between the legs until the front can be pulled up to the naval
- Pull snug around the legs mid-thigh and tape the tabs around the legs
- Add booster pads now if needed
- Stand up then pull snug up to the naval and tape the tabs around the waist
- Pull on the plastic panty making sure it covers the entire diaper in the back
- Apply Neosporin, eye drops, Benadryl etc. as needed
- Brush teeth
- Take morning pills
- Get dressed
