10 weeks out post prostatectomy via da Vinci. Post op doc said everything looked good structurally such as urethra and valves. When i lay down or drive or sleep i dont leak and generally have good volume, stream. But i have seen little improvement, maybe a worsening when I go about daily routine. My pad inside my depends fills without me knowing it.
Has anyone used the penis clamp or penis condom with any success?

@Doug
Is there such a thing as a penis condom? I'd love to use it at home, and not have to deal with this incessant leakage and dribble. I'm 3-1/2 months post@Doug thulium laser burn-out for a very large benign prostate.

that penis clamp looks like a medieval torture device

Google condom catheters. There are several good ones out there. If you have problems with retraction though you may want to check out Bioderm. They have a special device just for retracted guys. I think they call it liberty pouch.

Condom catheter. I believe it drains into a leg bag of some sort. Penile clamps squeeze on the penis. It is adjustable, as far as pressure. Not for me. I would wear plastic pants and diapers first.

I am wearing depends and pads that I have to change often. They sometimes fill without me knowing it. Thus I am afraid of sitging in urine and having it get into pants, seating. I dont want the sling operation

it sounds to me like you need a heavier diaper than Depends there are plenty to chose from and Depends are junk

DPCARE, Can you name some. And some pads as well. What concerns me no matter the pad or diaper, is having it collect a lot then having a blowout while sitting down. Brands please and thanks

Tranquility especially the ATN , Molicare, Abena, North Shore, Better Dry, Confidry 24/7 I am currently using the Abena Abrifom L4

Doug,
I think there is a solution that you should seriously consider, which is to reduce or eliminate the leakage using an external device. Stopping the leakage is much better than dealing with the leakage. Most of the external incontinence control devices have issues, I'd suggest. I'm using a soft silicone sleeve device designed to put some pressure on the urethra, which shuts down most of my leakage. Daytime, I would normally be a moderate level leaker, but at night slightly less so, since I do sleep on my back mostly...and don't hydrate much after late afternoon. I have details, if you are interested. (The device I'm using is patent pending.) Best wishes to you. Duane amhelp@comcast.net

My RALP was last August, I have been doing my Kegel workouts daily since and have seen slight improvement, but not much. Due to a continuing PSA level I am to start radiation soon. I explained to the oncologist that I was still incontinent and he said, “Google medical penis clamps.” Otherwise you get sex toys. I did and bought a Pacey Cuff, which is a clamshell like device with a Velcro strap. I was definitely more expensive than some, but works very well as long as you don’t get skin pinched in it. Be careful on sizing and be honest with yourself when ordering- it doesn’t come in “huge!!” I haven’t tried any other manufacturers, but so far this has worked for me.

I use a Hollister sheath and Coloplast Active leg bag everyday, they do a good job at keeping me dry. Be sure to try skin barrier wipes also as they contain extra "glue" to help the sheath stay on for longer, also they provide another layer to protect the penis from urine burn. They are not good for voiding in as the force will just blow off usually but for people who leak like I do, they catch the leaks no problem and are discrete to wear with normal underwear.

Laalaa,
You are right about the skin barrier. Makes a huge difference on how well the adhesive sticks to the skin.
Hope you are well. Have a nice day everyone.

Jim

Condom catheter is a good option with a leg bag, many out there to try along with various leg bag options, let us know if you go that route and we can make product recommendations. Personally I use occasionally but MUCH prefer a good tabbed diaper brief. Like many here you need to find something that works for you - fit and absorbency are key. Try many different brand like the Abena 4, MegaMax, BetterDry Molicare Maxi, Northshore has others. When you can go most of the day without thinking about it, you found your product. I leak out 100% in diaper and its an after thought as the diapers work that well (I had more issues with condom caths). Many regain control so keep doing your rehab/exercises but wear something that gives you confidence to get back to a normal day. Good luck
