Can't take the heat!

This time of the year sucks. When it gets hot it messes with everything. I feel worse and have to use my AC which means less money. I am on a budget plan but they just raised rates for the summer so.

I have to wear fixing pants no matter what because I have No-butt-at-all and everything wants to sag no matter how tight I get it. So, it gets hot wears clothes.

Guess I just have to suck it up and turn the AC on tonight.

I get dehydrated very easily still and have to drink a lot more water. More water means more leaks.

Why can't it be 65* all year round?

@ThatFLGuy - Any possibility of being able to move out of Pennsylvania given the apparent
lousey medical care? - Thus far it seems for both of us being in SoCal (thank you smarmy Gavin) - For us, cannot deal with snow. So we stay. Since San Francisco has been destroyed - San Diego has been advertiseding alot even given the illegals. - Pam

@Pammy53

My county here in Pa. has a lower cost of living than most places except for food (No store in town so I have to drive 25 minutes)

My rent is only $600 and I get help with my Gas for heating. Just 30 miles away, rent for the same square footage is $1000+ a month.

Yes, I could get HUD or other help but my county is very stricken with being slow to get things done.

I have a car so driving somewhere is not an issue if I have the gas money. My Insurance Issue will not change no matter where I live in Pa. and I would not live here in Pa. if I did not live in the town that I do. My parents ' house is a mile up the road, my Grandmother lives five doors down and all my cousins live here.

It's very much, This is where I was born so here is where I belong type thing for me.

@snow

Like really stretchy underwear. Like the net pants, they give ladies to hold up the big pads after having a baby.

I do not have a butt. Like wall flat so the butt of my diaper likes to sag so I use fixing pants to hold them up.

@ThatFLGuy Oh, okay, I get it.

Wow, that’s the cheapest rent I’ve heard of since 1997! You can’t even get a 500 square-foot studio in Utah for $600; you’d pay at least $1000 if not $1600. Our generation is so screwed.

@snow - California has always been more expensive than it should be - Why do you think Utah is so pricy? For us it really is mismanagement of money from the powers that be. - Pam

@snow

I have the highest rent for my size apartment in my town, but my parents own the others this size so no way to get cheaper.

I live right in my small town and right on the main road.

My bedroom window is 30ft from the road. From 6:30 am-9 am The dump trucks that go through town to the rock query shake the building.

And this time of year the motorcycles are loud.

Just 20 miles away rent is $500-800 more for the same Square footage.

Suck but with my insurance issue there is no way to pay more.

@ThatFLGuy I was pretty dumb when I moved into my condo 1.5 years ago. There was a four-lane road right in front of it that was under construction. My dumb self should’ve realized that eventually Google maps would be taking people on that four-lane road very loudly, particularly during commuting hours. Yep, the motorcycles are super annoying, especially right now as they’re all breaking free from the handcuffs of winter. They’re also building all around me so there are lots of dump trucks, construction vehicles, garbage trucks, etc. as well. The speed mile on the road is 40 mph. The one thing my condo definitely got right is that I barely even hear my neighbors. But I do hear that road, and it even bothers my cat. Fortunately, it does get pretty quiet in the evenings and on Sundays. I’m very grateful for that.

@snow

The dump trucks are bad coming into town, they and not allowed to use their Jake brakes but they do anyway because we have not cops to stop them.

I don't have anything being built near me but there are five different dump truck companies that use the road I live on to get to where they are going.

@ThatFLGuy Sounds very annoying, especially if you want/need to sleep in! They would reallllllllly scare a cat!

How does everyone else deal with sweating when wearing pull-ups? I don’t remember it being this bad before, but I might have just never paid attention.

Also I feel like the sweat just causes irritation and rashes.

@snow Wow snow!I had no idea that Utah was like that. I have driven through Utah. Parts of the state are gorgeous. Really pretty. The other thing I remember seeing was alot of billboards advertising homes for large families. Given what you have said, I don't know how anyone can afford to live there, no matter how many kids you have. Sounds super expensive. The idea of building any type of sports venue in ANY downtown area sounds nuts to me. The traffic alone would be a nightmare, not to mention parking. But really. Anymore - where can you move to that's even close to reasonable? - Thanks for taking the time to explain the whys and the wherefores. - Pam

Clayton, I suggest using some powder inside- not too much, but a little. I have heard that corn starch is good, though I would Google that idea. Perhaps others here can confirm that or better advise you on whether that works well. Good luck.

@jeffswet Does it smell like baby powder? I don’t want anyone to know I’m using it. I feel like that would give it away

@Pammy53 Thank you for reading my longggggg post. My ADHD manifests as talking too much, and has ever since I could talk. Most ADHDs are either lax at communication or are over-communicators.

You are correct. Utah is a gorgeous state. I think California’s diversity just by virtue of being such a huge state makes it the most beautiful state because of the Sierras AND the beaches, but the fact that we have the Rocky Mountains and the red rocks of southern Utah, this state makes it an equal contender. Nature is astounding! Part of why I can’t leave the West is because I really need to be by mountains this big after having grown up with them right there in my backyard. I feel naked if I’m not next to the bottom of a mountain.

@Claytonp I wouldn’t use baby powder since it’s been recently found to be carcinogenic - so Carson agenic, in fact, that they’ve lost giant class action lawsuits for billions of dollars. Yes, you would smell like a baby if you use real baby powder. But there are many adult diaper creams and powders on the market. I use Calmoseptine as a preventative barrier cream for the rashes. For the smell, I can basically get rid of it by shaving everything and also putting on deodorant with antiperspirant before I put on the Calmoseptine. That’s what my dermatologist told me to do. Then I when I get a rash, I use a prescription powder called Nystatin, which is a yeast medication, and I take Diflucan, an oral anti-yeast medication.

You hardly need any of the Calmoseptine. It might sound expensive at first, but you don’t go through it very quickly. Sometimes you have to get it from your pharmacist behind the counter because it’s a commonly stolen item by parents for their babies.

There’s a powder my mom uses for points of bodily friction that’s called Caldesene that has cornstarch and really makes a big difference. It’s for anti-chafing. Everyone here who shaves will agree, you must shave to avoid odor. You must also change quickly after you wet. Having anything against your skin that is wet for a long time is a bad idea, but it’s especially bad for you if it’s full of ammonia like urine is.

There’s another cream I’ve seen mentioned here a lot, which is Cavilon. I believe you can get it in a gel or cream or maybe even in another form. I found it too thick and it didn’t particularly help me, but I know it really helps others so just like with pull-ups, you’ll have to shop around and try different things.

You might also try showering more frequently. My dermatologist recently told me to never use soap under your arms or near your genitals Because the skin is so thin and sensitive there. I simply cannot agree with that.

Use the search function to search for “barrier cream“ because we have many other posts about this already You might be able to get a lot more immediate information that way.

@snow ok I’ll see what all they have in town at the store when we go tonight! I’ve definitely been showering more since I’ve been having more accidents. I do you soap though, but not was always told to so I guess I’ll stop doing that.

My grandma says naked time helps to. Like when I take a shower I’ll just stay in my room for an hour and just let everything breath she says will help

I know you can get some powders that don't smell like that. And Snow is correct- though I had forgotten about the problem with the lawsuits.

There's cornstarch baby powder but it has the same fragrance as talc based baby powder does with out the talcum which is the carsenogen. Although it's a natural mineral that's mined in California and Nevada and other states.

Johnson and Johnson does infact make and sell cornstarch baby powder, using cornstarch as a replacement for the talcum mineral powder which is also white in color like cornstarch. Talcum mineral is in a brittle Rock/stone in its natural form. If one gets a chunk of talcum it will break into pieces and powder.

@compwiz878 I guess I always thought that cornstarch, baby powder, and talcum powder are all the same thing.

I mentioned to my grandma I wanted to pick some up at the store tonight and she said she has some already that she’s had forever that once she finds she will give to me. So once I find out which of the 3 it is I’ll let yall know.
