Bladder Sling surgery incision size

Had sling surgery five weeks ago. The main incision scar ridge runs from behind my scrotum to within a half inch of my anal opening. While everything has healed nicely in the surgery and it has eliminated incontinence leakage, the end of the scar ridge near the anus has a bit of a bump, and sometimes it gets slightly irritated. Planning on asking my surgeon when I go in for my check up next week if it is normal to have an incision that goes back that far toward the anus but in the meantime I’m wondering if anybody who has had the surgery has had a similar experience in terms of location of the incision (or if it’s just a matter of my surgeon having larger hands than normal and needing the extra room 😂). Honestly just trying to find out if this is normal for this procedure.

It took more than six months for my healing - the area was quite tender. Everything is good now and I am thrilled with the dry results. I highly recommend the procedure!

I had mine in Sept 2021. The incision sounds the same. It did take about 3 months for the area to completely heal.

I would say that it is normal.

I also recommend the surgery.

My incision was not quiet that long and you can’t even see the scar now. Had a talented surgeon and procedure was successful. Thank God.
