Anyone With Artificial Sphincter?

After several years of too many full & sometimes overflowing pads, I went to Mayo Clinic for some testing. The Doctor stated that I was a good candidate for the artificial sphincter. Doctor said I could go from using 3 thick pads per day to 1 thin pad. I'd like to hear from others who have had this surgery. I'd like to know several things.

How might this affect masturbation & orgasm?
Before, did you have ED? Did this change anything?
How long was the recovery period? Are you more active now than before?
Do you still use pads? If so, how many per day and what type?

And anything else you'd like to share. Thank you in advance.

I had an AUS implanted by Dr. Steven Petrou at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida in May 2020 and have been dry since. Occasionally I may use a very thin liner in my underwear but more often than not it's hardly necessary. Dr Petrou is on of the best in the country. It's been a life-changer for me.--Good luck!

Thanks for those words. I saw Dr. Petrou and also went to Tampa General. I made plans to have the surgery in Tampa (only because I'm closer to Tampa). I think now that I've actually heard from a patient of Dr. Petrou, I will instead schedule with him. Thanks again.
