I think it is high time I just get my own room at the hospitals ER/ED.

Still having issues and my ostomy specialist said to head to the ER.

Well, I did not get there soon enough for any of the ostomy specialists to still be there so I got a Ct and was told to come back/call Monday.

Long story short I have an issue with my stoma where stool is coming out of places that the surgeon did not make so it is eating away at my skin, the ostomy wafers and I cannot keep the wafers on more than two days before they fail and leak. This sucks and is painful because the stool is burning my skin and causing rashes but there is no way to not have a wafer and ostomy bag on with this ileostomy so no choice but to deal with it.

I am getting other wafers to sample on Monday so I am going to call the hospital as soon as they get here and try to get them to see me.

I am almost just over this already and lucky that this can be undone but the only other option then would leave me bowel incotinent for life so.... Not good at all

Sorry you are having such difficulties. I hope you can work them all out and have a better time with it.

I wish there was something we could do other than be here for you. We are here for you so you at least can have us to communicate with. Wishing you better luck as you work through this.

I can't even imagine what you are going through. I'm even embarrassed to complain about my own problems knowing that you are struggling so much.

May God have mercy on you, and may He provide healing and comfort according to your faith in Him. 🙏

Just to put it more into perspective and even for myself to see how crazy it has been since I moved from Florida to Pennsylvania, here is a full breakdown of every time someone medical has seen me.

I moved up here to Pennsylvania in June 2019 and started working again in July

In November 2019 I had my first PA. ER/ED visit

Since then I have had
40 visits listed as an office,
25 listed as ER/ED (There are more than that),
8 listed as seeing just a nurse,
7 surgery theaters visits (Got anesthesia each time, and
10 hospitalizations.

Yea, I just need my own suite at the hospital just to save on gas money.

This is all in just the 29 months that I have lived in the state of Pennsylvania.

O, and I have 3 appointments set for this month now.

That sounds extremely painful. I hope they're able to get it sorted out soon. That's horrible that they just sent you away to call back on Monday.

@ltapilot

I have been talking to someone that also has an ileostomy and she is very upset about that fact. Even my ostomy specialist told me to go to the ER because things should not be coming out around my skin. But again the ER was busy so I was not a big priority after the CT was done. I am calling Monday after I get my samples and going to pretty much demand to be seen because my stoma burns like crazy.

I still do not think that this was worth all the hell I have been going through. In eight days it will be a month since the surgery and I have been back to the hospital more than I would like.

ERs are always hit or miss as to whether you'll get appropriate care. I've had some really good experiences, and a few really terrible ones.

In any event, I hope you're able to get some resolution on Monday!
